  • darn it why didn't i find this video earlier, karmacritic is currently down

  • I don't know about this suspense mechanism. Its been wayyy to long since we've seen any video or anything to take us out of our state of suspense. Its getting a little old now. I'd like to see some more videos.

  • look simple fact is if this were a real programed AI, he would be on the cover of every scientific magazine this side of Baghdad.

  • Ok, I like watched this a million times now, found the AI guy and actually was really scared (AI scares the BLEEP outta me...) then found the vid in question where he admits its a joke....do Im not folowing what you have found here, unless the 2 people are the same useing 2 diffrent accounts.....ACK! My head hurts!!!!! Im gonna get Steve to beat you up ;p

  • Fable Forge. Programmer FF. FF = Fable Forge. Fable Forge = Marco (as seen in the KarmaCritic Manifesto video). Same voice you hear in all the Eidolon videos shot looking at Programmer FF's screen.

Steve couldn't hurt me anyway. :P

  • oooooooo- ok- so it IS the same person then- I really thought I wasnt really following you there.....

lol-all he has to do is kick then run XD

  • Take it for what is worth, but Marco's in trouble at work. he sounded like he was gonna get canned. I dont know about the AI thing, I still dont think its real (I mean, come on, he's a programmer and all but not THAT good!!), but the job trouble thing is real, and I dont want to think its related. Anyway, like I said, take it for what is worth. I -dont- want to believe its real. Thats my side of the fence.

  • Well I didn't go into full detail of all the things that led me to conclude that this 'AI' was far less than a self-sufficient entity, but there is more. You'd note that he speaks of the messages that he clicks on and are thus marked read, will be the ones featured. The one he used in the example had already been marked read, so he'd already clicked on it - and could have already processed the message to create a script. How that script is generated or audited is another matter. ;-)

  • The risk of his job strikes me as a suspense mechanism. If it's not, I'd love his employers to contact me themselves. It'd be foolish to throw away such superb publicity for even a relatively crude yet appealing A.I. product - or for a cleverly crafted entertainment franchise.

  • It was all clear untill I got mixed up with fiction and reality... I know I'm real, I think so anyway.

    Prove me wrong.

  • Interesting, but maybe I'm missing something? I haven't for a moment suspected that EidolonTLP is an actual AI. Was I supposed to? I think that the format for the videos is novel and refreshing, but honestly the reason why I've been watching them all is that the content is excellent. BTW, in /node/2568 he links to some technical bits on the creation of Eidolon.

  • Not missing anything at all really. My point was to show for those that still believed Eidolon was an actual AI working independently to see who was really behind it, and for those interested in the character and personality behind it to know their identity. I know there's more information there, which is why I pointed to the thread. I don't need to make an hour video expounding on it, I'll leave that to FableForge.

  • Good point. Thanks. It does look like Gizmoz might be fun to play around with!

  • Do you also go to magic shows and ruin those for little kids as well? It's called suspension of disbelief. In the hands of a responsible person who knows where to draw the line, it can greatly enhance entertainment. Eidolon has repeatedly stated that it's best to think of this as an elaborate joke.

For the record, we know Harry Potter isn't real.

  • If you support the ideas that Eidolon puts forth, then deception of children by any means is abuse. Children often figure out such magic on their own, and if they don't they grow up to believe hoaxes.

In this context, suspension of disbelief is willful self-deception for the sake of entertainment. My disclosure should only 'ruin things' for those that believed he was real - something that seemed to be a concern for FF himself. This is expressed as his assertion of joke status.

  • @dafragsta Says the muggle.

  • I don't get it. explain.

  • It all comes together. Film-makers looking for a way in. Good job, Eucre and FF

  • wrote an article on this. Check it out at newinthenews(dot)net

  • Great job! Kudos!

I take my hat off to you :D

  • Thanks, I had a lot of fun both 'interacting' with Eidolon and investigate the mystery.
