I spent 4 years living here while wiht the United States Coast Guard, and all I have to say is really? I loved living here, but terrorrism? Could you say drugs, theft, anythign else we could laugh at...but terrorism?? Let me help your investigation quickly......NO
Speaking of wondering what lies beneath the surface, just what is it clouding Silver Lake/Cockle Creek? When I was visiting as a kid, before municipal water arrived, you could see clearly to perhaps five feet deep and watch the crabs from places like the dock at the Harborside. Now it seems you cannot see more than a foot.
How did you come up with the idea to make this??? LOL Anyways... i'm another one of the teenagers that live on Ocracoke, and honestly, yall have no idea what's behind the scenes! :)
Slung shrimp at the Pelican...summers of '01 and '02. I took a job in upstate NY in '98 and we had to run away from the snow in May '01... I worked there with Steve Manicone (spelling?), Aaron Galagher, Sid, Sherry, my wife Jennifer (can't forget her!). Good times.
What a crack-up! Thanks. My wife and I "ran away" to Ocracoke for a year and a half...wouldn't trade the memories for the world. While this is a joke, you'd be surprised of the REAL modern-day priate stories that have originated there...or, do you?
Run away at age 46, or sling shrimp at the Pelican? What years were you there? I've known people who have "run away" to Ocracoke. One guy told me the same as you; he wouldn't trade the memories, and was glad he did it. But he also added he wouldn't be able to look at the place the same again. He learned all the small town stuff about O'coke, who hated who, who wer the bad/good people, etc. I think frequent visitors over the years can figure some of that out without living there!!
dude i live here. nice place no shit like that trust me im just a normal teenager who goes to school here.... or am i? heheheh lol im just kidding this was very interesting. had me going there for a second. greeting from ocracoke.
