dude what u are saying makes no sense at all- i'm black and i play blues guitar quite well, but if i where to jam the blues with Eric Clapton or John Mayer they would run circles around me in both technique and feeling. Being back doesn't make u a great blues player. Being a great musician and being able to truly express yourself on your instrument makes u a good blues player. I am always curious about the scars of John's guitar. is it a Fender American Strat? Is it a special design or "the scars of time"? Could someone tell me ?

@gunneriel ive seen an interview with him. the guitar is a fender custom shop one built in the mid 00's. it originally had paint on it as far as i remember but he didnt like the guitar too much so they did a few modifications to it, like scrapin some of the paint off and afterwards he decided to stick with it :)

As much as i love players like Vai, Timmons, and my favourite of all time Satriani. Sometimes the best solos derive from just a few notes, B.B has become a master of this over his career. I once saw Carlos Santana live and he did a 15 minute solo which used about 4 notes lol and left the whole of the 02 arena speechless and dumbstruck

Every year, Guitar Center has this national blues guitar competition , looking for new blues guitarists and it culminates in this awesome Grand Finale, usually at the House of Blues in Hollywood. In 2007, Kenny Wayne Shepherd was the OPENING ACT ! ! View KWS's "Voodoo Child" at the 2007 King of the Blues Finale. UNBELIEVABLE !

Check out his albums, "Welcome", "Doyle Bramhall II", "Is it News", "Jellycream", and his "Living in a Dream " album when he played with Arc Angels. DB II grew up in the same home as Stevie Ray Vaughan and his dad, Doyle Bramhall, first heard Stevie Ray and told him he was "good" !!!!!
