i've just got a a great big knot. Theres stopping her, i have never crochet'd before and had to watch her first video 20 times. Its like she actually trying to confuse you with how fast she moves theres no way you could do this as she does it , she should start doing slight of hand magic tricks as well.

It's when she pulls some slack from the ball and wraps round the needle that confuses me i dont see her pull it thru ? If i taught people how to do my job in this way somebody would get hurt.

@steve171274 if you've never crocheted before you should probably start with something more simple, like a blanket or a scarf. it's like trying to learn mozart before you learn Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

@FragilexCapricorn I'm sorry but i must disagree. I have made 3 hats so far over xmas while i had many whole days to myself. Learning the technique took me hours. God help anyone who trys to learn quick from these vids as she moves her hands so quick , it's as if she is actually trying to obstruct you. And dont start me on her desision to change her mind on how many stitches to use on some of the rows from one vid to the next. She confuses alot of people later on in the hat from here.

@MidoriGal17 If you type in 'How to Crochet a Hat : How to Start Crocheting a Hat' in the search bar you should find it. They're all muddled. That's the starting point. Then you will find that each row has 2 videos each 'Starting Row 1' and 'Finishing Row 1'. Same with 2, 3 and 4 etc. She goes right up to 7 or 8 rows but by then you should have an idea of how to continue until you have the hat as deep as you want it. Watch out for Row 5, she messes up. Read the comments for help.

I really found this series of videos helpful. However I really dont understand how to size the hat. How big does the flat circle of Increases need to be before you start on the sides? Im sure it varies based on the wearers head. But how do I determine that?

@rainepanda Well I guess to each's own but I hate them bc I don't like how they cut off and then you have to search for the nxt part. If its going to do that it would make more sense to have the next part right after the previous video. But do what works for you. Hope I didn't offend...
