wtf is wrong with HD fisheye? the only difference is the resolution? keep in mind HD does not only mean DSLR, which is what I use for fisheye and it looks great IMO

@Matthutchinson the resolution is the problem, too many head cuts. it is impossible to get a setup as wide as a vx1/mk1 with an hd camera.

@APorterFilms im not sure about him/you but when I had my old tape camera the issues were with the tape. Might be different for you

@APorterFilms try running a head cleaner tape through both cameras

do some test footage and if that doesnt work then you might have to send your camera in to be fixed

keep in mind that if you are using a vx1000 in the cold it tends to glitch alot

erick, what settings do you shoot at with the canon? do you just double the frame rate for your shutter speed (ex 60p with a 125th shutter)

@GoingSkateboarding i shot at 60p with a 60th shutter. i think my ISO was at 400, not to sure. Shot with a 50mm 1.8, fully open aperture. Also colour corrected.

@antivirusas I used to have weird opinions on HD because of over used slow motion and finding it weird mixing HD with SD footage. But I've done my research and getting a Canon 60D was definitely worth it. Skateboarding videos are starting to be repetitive so you might as well do your own thing and try something new. I'm sure some of your opinions will change as well.
