@B4mytyme I don't know if someone has already answered this for you but before God sent Jesus to the cross for the human family He had already given us so much space to repent and turn from sin but we were too stubborn and in love with sin to do so. Jesus was ordained to be a sacrificial lamb for us to bring us all into reconciliation to God that he did not have to destroy us for our sins because of our unwillingness to repent.

It's not the actual act of death that is required for forgiveness but the act of obedience, total love, and proof of faith that is required though death did occur. God forgave David MANY times without the requirement of death as well as other rulers. To get maybe a better understanding try reading Isaiah 28 and Jeremiah 7 first, then read Hebrews ch. 11. The more you read on this subject the better understanding you will get for yourself.
