I think the parents in these videos go overboard with Disney and are more worked up and excited than the kids... avoid the heat, the crowds, the inflated prices and the stress. Skip Disney- the kids will turn out okay without it.
@TheTrogdore I am sorry if you feel that my choice of surprise for my children is not what you would like. They had been before and will go again. They loved the surprise and talk about it frequently, even a year later. It is a special memory for us. BTW, it wasn't hot, crowded, or any more expensive than going to the beach. We planned well and had a fabulous time. Thanks anyway.
@MissNurse97 I am very sorry about the person who posted that "skip Disney" comment. Obviously, they don't know what they're talking about. I thought you did an awesome job telling them the way you did. They looked surprised. I'm 26, and I still get surprised :D
@rupefan Thanks for your words. I speculate that the poster in question probably has some jealousy issues or something. I can understand. The kids were surprised! They were in disbelief, and my daughter said later that she kept waiting for us to say we were joking. We had an awesome trip that will be a special memory for us. Thanks for being so kind!
@MissNurse97 I can understand that too. I could tell she was in disbelief, and excited at the same time. I was the same way when I first found out I was going to Disney World. It's something they'll never forget. Nor will you and your husband. You're welcome : )
@monkeyfan555 The van was already packed. We just put them in and left right after this conversation. They kept asking if I packed different things (like toothbrushes and such) for several miles! They were in disbelief to say the least!
@MissNurse97 You are some of the best parents in the world!!! Same goes out to all parents out there who do this for their kids!!! This video is part of what we call 'Childhood Memories'. Your kids will remember this the rest of their lives and no loser has a right to tell you what to do or how to raise your kids. God bless you and your family!!!!
@TheTrogdore Really, you just took a beautiful moment and completely hammered on it because either: a) you were deprived as a child and your parents didn't take you anywhere special or b) you feel like less of a parent because you are not able to afford your children the chance to go to the Happiest Place on Earth. If a or b are true, have a garage sale, sell your crap and u should have $ to go to Taco Bell. Then your kids won't think that you suck so much.
@TheTrogdore I never went as a kid and my mom regrets it as did I until I went. I went at 27 and am already planning my daughter's trip. I've got 2 nieces who would love nothing more than to go there, and they never will because their parents aren't willing to take them (we offered last October and were turned down. If you've never been, you should go. It's definitely worth it!
@TheTrogdore Look, Disney is a big part of culture these days. You can't go a week without seeing a single reference to Disney. They spent years making children happy and still manage to hold a place in everyones' (except you) hearts. So, if you are against making children happy then I can't even call you human. You are sick to feed off of the negative side of this happy moment that clearly has nothing to do with you in the first place. God bless you, because you will need it after this.
@TheTrogdore why cant they go? Disney creates special memories for everyone- children in particular and children get so excited and happy when they hear they're going to Disney. Surpirses like these can last a life time. They went in spring therefore its not that hot. They said they planned it well therefore they wernt stressed. They said it wasnt too expensive. So why say skip Disney?
