she was given £200 fine and 6 points and found at fault driver of the lorry was cleared on two counts one by the court the other by traffic commissioner, the truck was unladen and wieght of around 14 ton.

This story is such crap. Not b/c I think it's fake. I think the driver is a MOron. The car had to be in front of him at SOME point. How do you even hit a car (in order to turn it sideways) & not know it. Much less, how do you continue pushing it at 60 mph & not feel the drag. And how do you not see it? This guy was high on something & decided to push her down the freeway on purpose.

@whitbyjet65 have you even driven a Daf XF? I'm guessing you haven't driven anything larger than a van. Before front mirrors were made compusary on all trucks manufactured from 2007, there was/is a blind spot to the front. Its abit like you being able to see a cat directly in front of a car!! you can't!! You anti truck people make me laugh, you have no concept of what HGV can and can't do, I bet you would stand directly behind one to giude it!!

@whitbyjet65 So you have driven a DAF XF? If you have driven HGVs you would know about said blindspot in front which is how people get killed walking directly in front of them, especially in London. Nope never pushed a car down the motorway, although this year I've had 2 drive into the side of me coming off slip roads because they don't know how to join a motorway or understand who has PRIORITY.I'm sure both learned after having to wait in the rain for AA to recover them making them late

@pimpUK1 I don't drive a truck any more but as for joining a motorway, I know exactly how arsey truckers are when it comes to letting cars join. They actually form a rolling road block. I agree, a lot of car drivers are wankers but so are some truck drivers. PS It's the trucker's job to always be aware of what's behind him so if he can no longer see it in his mirrors or infront, he knows it's along his flanks. the high vantage point makes this much easier than being in a car.

@whitbyjet65 I won't move over to lane 2 for cars, as its to easy for them to join in a blind spot and stay there. The highway code explains how to join a motorway, if they want traffic in lane 1 to give way then too bad when they cause a accident. This guy moved over to let cars out yet the car driver still cant' get it right and manages to drive into him. The traffic comisionare praised this HGV driver so you are wrong, end of. The high vantage point is only of benifit to view far ahead.

@pimpUK1 Your attitude is typical of the modern trucker. You won't do it yet if a car doesn't let a truck pull into lane 2 because he wants to overtake, he gets all shitty about it. In rush hour you cant always join as you should because trucks are completely blocking the slip road in a slow convoy. Just to let you know that I'll NEVER slow down to let a truck pull into lane 2 because of your attitude. You dont do it for us, we dont do it for you. Im glad Im out of the trade.

@whitbyjet65 Not really, it’s because I drive by the rules in the highway code, the broken white line means give way, if other motorists don’t know that it’s not my problem. I don't expect anyone to move over for me when joining a motorway and prefer it if they don't as I am more than capable of judging speed of others and slowing down or speeding up as necessary. Unfortunately many lack observation and judgment needed on the busy roads we now have.

@pimpUK1 It's not against the rules to back off and allow a driver to join if he's struggling for room. When it's a busy motorway, space is VERY limited. An artic joing a motorway relies on other road users to back off due to the sheer length of his truck. Haven't you ever driven on the M25 or M62 in rush hour? It's nose to tail, man! It's give & take. Your attitude stinks fella.

@whitbyjet65 Its not against the rules but it shouldn't be expected. You shouldn't join a motorway causing other road users to slow down. Of course I will let people out during busy times but too many will floor it down the slip road epecting me to let them out, only for them to run out of slip and meet the n/s :-) I always hold back in busy traffic and drive slowly along slip with no signal, if no one lets me out, so be it, they don't have to, however it avoids pissing people off.
