Amazingly powerful performance. Jason Bonham, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones. They all put all of their old talent and energy to put on a legendary concert that will always be remembered as the reunion of Led Zeppelin. This band rocked the 70's with Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Black Dog, Good Times Bad times, Dazed and Confused and many more. If you don't like Led Zeppelin, then you have something wrong with yourself.
i dont think anybody plays with him..zeppelin played everything themselves. sometimes jpj played background guitar parts When he plays keyboard hisfeet play bass using pedals on the floor
Once again, the solo has changed once again live. I dont think its been played the same more then twice. Still, not a bad thing, I mean anything anything led zeppelin play are absolutely amazing.
All the video monitor tricks are there because they're replicating the concert from i believe its 1978. If you haven't seen it yet, they just released a Led Zeppelin live concert DVD called The Song Remains the Same. All the video tricks you see here are referenced from that. Or if you want, just go to my videos and watch the Stairway performance.
i dont know about you guys...but this brought me to tears. reading the reviews about the entire show and just everything about it just is beyond belief. the crowd couldnt have been more perfect for them. wow. thats all i can say. cheers
Let's be honest, and I no this is only a layperson's opinion, relatively good as this solo was, it was mediocre compared to the versions Page did of it on the likes of BBC Sessions and How the West Was Won, quite imprecise and curtailed. DON'T jump down my throat on this, I love Led Zeppelin, I'm just speaking my mind rather than routinely saying "Awesome, as good as Page can do" or something like that.
Well, taking into consideration that Zeppelin hasn't played together in maybe 20 years or so, you can't have expected much more than what was performed. I know where you're coming from though, Page's solos were a lot more impressive in his prime years.
yeah there's definitely something lacking. Then again to an extent his solos were always sort of erratic. But yeah, the energy and sponteneity, plus articulation arnt really quite there here. It also follows the albulm solo much closer than other live versions.
You're too critical of a group that has not performed for decades together. This is the result of rehearsals for a one-off show and nothing more. But what if there was plans to keep the run going, more work and effort?
Were all stuck in our vids and recordings and we try to imagine what they should sound like once again, but time is saying, "oh, fuck you"...
Kashmir was the best clip! oh well PG would have closed this down probably 1min after the gig - at least we got a look!!!! awesome display of commitment and respect to the material - and they stil cast spells x The 'genie' is indeed out of the bottle!
i love led zeppelin.... but theres something about this that just doesnt sound that good. i dunno

I heard that Robert Plant hated this song, and would never sing it again. He needs to practice it a bit before any more talk of a reunion tour.
Still, it must have been awesome to see the concert live.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Page at his worst is worse than almost any other guitarist at their worst.
Yes, Page needs to practice cause he aint what he used to be. That being said, he is still fantastic
Hektor88 4 years ago
The man can't screw up a solo that he wrote.
He's only been playing a guitar more than 3 quarters of his life. and he needs to practice more. psh.
