i need help!!!!! i learned to do 180 heelside and toeside with my heels and toes hanging of the board, and now i have noticed that whenever im just carving im constantly stepping around with my feet, so i cannot connect my 180 properly how can i fix this?
softer wheels (like 80a, 79a, 78a etc.) are really not meant for sliding, but for hard carving and grip instead. its kind of difficult to slide when using them. but if you practice with those wheels, you'll learn how to kick and to control.
i think i need a new deck but can someone help me...i keep getting wheel bite and its pissing me off i already have risers and i tighten my trucks to the max but everytime i try to slide my damn wheel keeps catching the board PLZ HELP!!!
i have such trouble with getting full 180's front side, backside is easy. so i figured "hey loaded is always there for me!!" watched this video and right when you talked about how much weight over the back or front truck it just clicked. thank you so much. i can now do frontside. no more speed check fails!!
@WillSalesTV that setup has been ok for sliding, but i like to mostly do trick like shove its, tiger claws, flips and crusing so i think the tan tien is the right one for me =D
Weight can really affect your sliding. If your a 100 lbs, and try to slide on a flex 1 dervish, IT'S NOT GUNNA HAPPEN! (unless you got strong legs.) So go to FRIGGIN MCDONALDS! And order a fatass meal!
i have problems after doing the 180 powerslide regular and after it being goofy, i can't do a goofy(switch) 180 powerslide so i return to regular, any advice, tip or help ?
ok any one have any advice. When ever i try to do a shuvit slide my board lands 2 far infront of me and my front foot only lands on the board and wen i try to put my back foot on the board shoots out from under me and i eat it. someone plz help me im sick of getting rapped by the pavement doing this trick
@plint2000 just don't! i ride goofy as well and there's nothing wrong with it!
but in case you really want to be comfortable in both positions, try switching from goofy to regular after you've pumped by jumping, spinning, and landing on your board while its still moving or going down a hill. that way you learn balance before you try pumping.
@plint2000 i like to just cruise around goofy just to get a feel for it, the more time you spend practicing riding goofy the better you get, then you start to be able to do everything you can do in regular
@plint2000 learn to ride in both stances, im normally goofy but now i can ride in regular stance. it feels scary during the first time u try it but practicing it would make u master the regular stance. it took me approximately 3 days to master the regular stance and carving in regular stance :D
i have a sector board with 65mm, 78a wheels. The board itself is still a basic beginners board, but no matter what i try, i cant slide without loosing control of the board. Is it the board, or do i need to take a different approach?
@thenewguy11111 you don't konw what you are talking about, plenty of 78 wheels will slide. maybe not is well but you can defintely slide them. i've done plenty of sliding on 78a gumballs. it has much more to do with the shape and thane of the wheel than the duro.
@merks91 yeah well its easyer to learn on harder wheels? Duh? if your having problems slidding get some harder wheels then try it? simple? there not going to make hard wheels that arent ment for sliding either so the wheels well be shapped good. your retarted.
@thenewguy11111 i hope english isn't your first language because you spelled almost every word wrong including, "retarded." i'm riding 80a cult classics which are way slidier than 86a durians. to say, there is "no way" this kid can slide 78a wheels is just bullshit. i learned to slide on 80a zigs, which if you know anything, are some of the grippiest wheels out there.
@thenewguy11111 atleast you spelled fag right. well whatever you're doing clearly isn't working, after taking one look at your vids, you suck ass at longboarding!!
@merks91 haha! alright man whatever! i dont take longboarding competitivley haha oh and sorry im dyslexic! haha! i bet from all my other videos you can tell longboarding isnt my whole life soo?
@jontymcj Well Mr. Rude Guy that likes to reply to comments from a month ago, I had just got my first board when I made that comment. Also the wheels are made for traction. Look up Earthwing HGR Specials. Thanks for being a spontaneous jackass.
@KCrenshaw09 Yeah, sorry I'm being a douchebag. But there are sooooo many stupid questions on YouTube. It's even worse than Silverfish. Still...all wheels can slide. Just break them in, round the edges. Look at Orangatang InHeats - 75mm diameters, 80a, 56mm contact patch, NO BEVELLED LIP, they can still have buttery slides. If you're light like me, then I suggest getting driftier wheels if you're having trouble. Fav slidey wheels: Pink Powerballs, Stimulus, Venom Sidewinders, Gravity Drifters.
Would you say it's easier to do a sorta of jump to relieve weight of the board to slide, or to put extra weight on it by pushing on it to force the board to slide?
@MrCcdrewdrew you can practice just going like 10-15km/h (~8mph), put your hands down and push the board, to make it slide a little, just a little squeak. Then try the same thing faster, with real sliding gloves and BOOM! :D ^^
