A vast majority of Americans support repealing DADT, and yet the generals are stuck in the past. The tradition in this country is civilian control of the military, so shouldn't the military be forced to accede to the will of the people on such broad policy issues?

His "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." was pretty bold at the time. It came into being not long after I got out of the army. I can understand what he is saying here and I believe him.
