Turns out the Beatles were supposed to play there but John couldn't get the group together. Iron Butterfly were also but they were stuck at the airport lol
@djnas76 John didn't want this in the film because they were forced to perform at 3:00 am in the morning. He didn't like this performance and thought it was a bad for the band. The prior band the Grateful Dead had over played their time slot.
From what i've read, it seems that John Fogerty may very well have been the only person at Woodstock who wasn't stoned. It is well known that he wasn't into drugs. His singing is as good as the studio! How is this not good? I think he is a perfectionist (i know i am with my guitar playing)
@JobberBud hey idiot, it was Woodstock! Your way to optimistic. They werent into drugs like others but they did some pot and acid. Mainly the rest of the band not fogerty. He denies alot but experimented a bit. Performers at Woodstock were getting dosed weather they liked it or not. Do better research
3 people did not like this. Obviously child molesting Nickelback fans. Fuck you you useless cunts. This is great shit. The tape itself might be bad the band sounds wicked. Saw Fogerty two years ago and he was incredible to say the least.
@AngusShanks Yes, it is great stuff, but the clown who posted it just did it for self-promotion. Apparently, you gotta subscribe (whatever THAT does or involves) in order to get the full-length video. Not everybody who thumbs down does it for the content. Sometimes people are dissing the asshole EXPLOITING the content.
I just like people knowing how much I hate Nickelback and how ashamed I am over them being Canadian. I knew about the thumbs down stuff although I also imagine some people don't like CCR or Fogerty. THOSE people will rot in hell while listening to Nickelback, which is probably what they'd play in hell.
Atze----Fogerty is still doing it! I've been to hundreds of concerts and the 3 times I've seen john fogerty are my top 3. Nobody can touch him even today. He's got an awesome band. If Fogerty is ever playing near you-GO!!
Hey kids, watch this and then do something will you? Music is going down the tubes. Here's a band that belted it out from the gut, lost their asses financially, but in 50 years we'll still know who they are.
I wuz there...I think their manager Fantasy records fucked them up a lot...I was there all 3 days and they were the best and tightest band there...seriously they were amazing...then The Who then Sly some bands sucked but no one cared
I'm pretty critical of performances, and have criticized some of my favorite bands, including Zeppelin, for butchering their own songs live. I don't know what Fogerty was worried about here. This sounds great! I was expecting it to be awful, but they're rocking out here. This should have been in the original movie.
@magprob - It's better now. Weed back then normally contained between 2-7% THC, while weed today normally contains between 10%-20% THC. Also, with all the high tech growing and lighting equipment used today, pot is better than ever before.
John fogerty is the shit has anyone seen him the past 10 yrs live? he has amassed some collection of fine guitars
not just the ric & the black beauty he has so many fine gtrs a goldtop, a PRS, and many many more i can't remember off the top of my head...he's the too cool..
I just found out recently from a drug rehab therapist that the weed we smoke today is, on average, 10 times stronger than the shit they were smoking back then. With the possible exception of our overall lack of LSD these days, I'd wager that this generation is higher than the hippies EVER were.
It would be interesting to find an accurate survey of how many people in places like the U.S., Canada, England etc. actually DID trip. I agree that the stuff was of a way higher quality and definitely more potent (at least, that's what I've heard), but I'll bet that way less people tripped than we'd like to think. Today we have shittier psychedelics but I'll bet more people are taking them....not to mention the weed that's 10 times stronger. I still have a feeling we're "higher" these days.
It was free'r back then..it was all new, no one really knew if you were whacked out like today..if you have a mini buzz today, people are disgusted at how primitive you are. back then, drinking, smoking..the adults mostly just knew drinking, it was much easier to get away with...today, yikes, pee tests, blood tests, they even testing your hair. Today, people are doing prescription drugs, it's the rage. Clean acid, freshly grown mushrooms and there was good weed back then too, just harder to find
it also costs about 10 times as much, son. an oz of the finest Michuacan cost $25, which seemed a little much compared to a $15 bag, but the results were amazing! I think there's a more refined distribution system these days. Not to mention 40 years of cross breeding and grafting.
Boy, if this is so horrible I'd hate to see them on an off night. I've heard alot worse. At least they did not go up there and lip sync or something. Alot of bands complained about the sound, wind, rain ect, but still went out there and tried their best to get through it. The Grateful Dead were electricuting themselves from the rain and still gave it a shot. I commend these guys. I'll take this over anything new out now.
@barcia95 im getting goose bumps.. so id say they didnt phone this one in...this is just opposite of 99 version with ppl who didnt care and bands that actually promoted violence and destruction instead of good time get down and have fun music like CCR...ill take this over recent rock anyday and im only 30 lol
@barcia95 Not to mention one legitimate excuse for ANYONE to perform badly: Fogerty and Co. had their set at 3 AM. Would YOU be at the top of your game at 3 AM?
Turns out the Beatles were supposed to play there but John couldn't get the group together. Iron Butterfly were also but they were stuck at the airport lol

John Fogerty is perfection. Here and everywhere -- do you think Mick Jagger or Roger Daltrey had any pipes at all? What a laugh.
