Cant really say "The Beatles" if it is "John Lennon" on a solo song. Now, if George, Paul, and Ringo helped with the song. then it becomes "The Beatles" . So, just say, "John Lennon," because thats what it is, "A John Lennon song"
I wonder how hard it was for John not to laugh his ass off in the face of the Maharishi upon the "serious" moments. He was so cynical by nature. Wonder how long he was there before he saw it to be a womanizing money grbbing scam? About 10 minutes? And poor George. he LOVED all this and was probably hurt somewhat by John's opinions. Who knows. John and George were always pretty good friends I think -
This is John having a pop at George - musically and spritually. It's actually pretty pointed as well - he obviously didn't think much of Blow Away or George's continuing enthusiasm for Eastern religion. It's sort of in the same vein as Serve Yourself where Dylan is the target. Scouse wit at its most scathing and cynical. I've read they weren't getting on at the time around John's death and this sort of confirms that.
Not the Beatles...it's a John Lennon home demo from 1979.

"Take three times a day after every meal" - John Lennons tongue-in-cheek mingled with every subject he touched. One of his assets!
