  • I think I would have taken the mean nun's crap for about 30 minutes before I would have put her head through the wall. In a biblical sense, of course.

  • amazing scene

  • The look on her face at 2:50 is priceless.

  • One thing to remember is that bitches like Sister Vazous are very common among nuns. Frustrated old maids or whores who, through family money and family connections, use the convent as an escape. Many, if not most, people who attended a pre-Vatican II parochial school can tell stories about nuns whacking kids on the knuckles with a ruler and inflicting other physical and psychological abuse. Thank goodness the church is being called to account for its actions!

  • Wow she truly was a saint! i have always loved this scene...why i wonder are there no saints around 2day? i dont believe pope john paul is a saint, wasnt he more like a king the man was treated like a God on this earth! where are the true holy people 2day?

  • @lurchers123 John Paul II certainly did not act like a king. You have no idea what a Pope is like if you think he acts like a king. He was the closest to a saint we have had in the modern-day world.

  • @al1936ful ..Did pope john paul not live in a palice, did he not have many many servents, did he not have his own army, he was a king not a saint! now saint francis-that was a true holy man!

  • And that is what we must remember , I can not promise you happiness in this world , only in next. Such true words. And from the Holy Virgins lips. If only we could remember this when times are bad..

  • @babyycat Of course, Protestants may get upset here, if they believe that Mary has no authority to promise anything about the next world. One way to reconcile the potentially conflicting Catholic and Protestant points of view, however, is to say that while Jesus, and not Mary, is the One Who decides whether you make it to the next world (i.e. heaven), Mary can promise you that, if you do make it, you will be happy.

  • A great actress who will be remembered for her role in the classic 1943 film The Song of Bernadette. Good Bye Ms. Jones for giving us such a great talent you have. Jennifer Jones 1919-2009 : ( ...

  • @yogafan6500 she passed way on 2009 and yet people celebrate the lifetime of a drug addict, awesome job hollywood

  • @theachtungtree Well, of course, some people are able to separate their real lives from their movie role lives. That is why they call it acting.

  • I firmly believe in The Almighty god who sits on his throne in Heaven. I firmly believe in His only begotten Son Jesus the Christ who died to save mankind's soul and through him and Only Him can we get to the father but through the Son, The KING of Kings and Saviour ro all of God's children. Through him nothing is impossible and that is ONLY throught the will of the FATHER can their be Salvation by excepting Jesus as our personal Savior. Thy Kingdom come THY will be done as it is in Heaven. AMEN

  • I've always found this inspirational - that 'many are called, few chosen'. Divine suffering is not worked for, or sought after - that would be masochism - it is an indispensable part of being wounded in order to heal. In the wound is the gift. I love this film - St B had pure grace amidst atrocious pain.

  • human nature is just inhumane....
