  • EVERY CHANGING MOODS one of the best songs they did along with shout to the top best band of the 80s

  • I love both this song and music video!

  • Sexy ma fa ...and yep I'm old enough!!!

  • style council=elevator muzak

  • I don't know if anyone would agree w/me,but these guys were almost like the Brit version of "blue eyed soul".(Brit Hall & Oates?).The Jam had motown influences and Paul broke up the band 'cuz he wanted to bring in more jazz and R+B. (wasn't he married to the original girl back up singer at one time?)

  • dee c lee yeah they have kids i think

  • damn this makes me wanna ride a bike

  • in some of the shots they're not really riding their bikes. funny.

  • Confusing ere? Said in the time of X Factor.

  • Ahahahhahah Totally agree...

  • ゆく河の流れは 絶えずして

    しかも もとの水にあらず

    「方丈記」 鴨長明

    yukukawanonagarewa taezusite

    sikamo motonomizuniarazu

    「houzyouki」 kamonotyoumei

  • is it me or does the guy on the right look like some sort of simian in this video?!?

  • could of used better bikes...bloody tight wads :)

  • The Jam was a politically motivated band, and the Style Council was the transition after the band split. So many great songs, but I might call "Café music." Still a great band...and Weller's solo efforts, particularly the first 3, were fantastic. I remember seeing him in NY at the Continental Club in front of about 300 people...I'll never forget that night...it was his tour for the first solo album. The guy is an icon.

  • really? cuz ive never heard of him

  • How old are you?

  • te gek.

  • put the fag label to rest. nice song, nice music, nice era.

  • oh yes and simon you are a gay twat fuck

  • my mates got a pair of cycling pants.he looks a right twat in them

  • this is great

  • Amazing how their voices compliment each other...great track/post...I would have kicked their asses in a race...hehe.

  • Splitenzfreak1980, Thank you SO much for not moaning about how "All today's music is rubbish!" etc.

Every era has its classics, its moving moments, and its forgettable drivel. Sometimes it is harder to find good music if you don't have good local radio or good music stores, but it CAN be done. Respect!

  • This song is just so soulful and expressive.. I have no words for how much I enjoy this

  • great song!

  • I remember seeing Paul Weller in the "Do They Know It"s Christmas" Video knew he was in this band but, couldn't remember the name of the song. took the chance and found him here. What Memories!

  • This song brings me straight back to Jr. High and High School... love this song.

  • Out of all of the bands that Paul Weller has been in, The Jam was, quite obviously, my favorite. But, this is my favorite song Paul Weller ever. He nailed it on this one.

  • one of my favorite songs. weird though, the version i have on my ipod has a slower more soulful beat.

  • Weller unplugged...? he did a recent gig...live...still great.

  • I think that was probably the album version on cafe bleu, which was a better version in my opinion.

  • This is the 7'' single version, the version on Cafe Bleu is a slow acoustic version.

  • like both versions effin loads....depends on my ever changing mood..LOL!...aknow bad pun.

  • CYCLING is cooooooooooooooooool

  • Go on the Weller!

  • Weller certainly went in a more R&B direction right off the bat with Style Council and while it was definitely slicker, sometimes even vapid, it could be good too for me. This song is a bit slickly produced but it's well-written and reminds me of Stevie Wonder (the chord changes on "I wish to stay forever" are very Stevie-like).

  • Paul performed cheerfully in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • I was running on the beach listening to this song the other day.. it's perfect.

    Thank you for posting!

  • Hi 70's

I'm thinking The Paris Match? sorry you lost the album, it is a really good one.

  • Hard to believe that this is the same Weller from The Jam.

  • top of the top

  • I fell in love with this song just from the beat and Wellers lyrics

  • ah, the 1980s, when a video consisting of a bicycle race across the English countryside could command a rapt audience. gotta love it, thx for posting.

  • adorable pop. great instrumental harmonies and nice vocals. Music needs more of these clever, memorable riffs today, when most of what comes out is over-produced and under talented or just untalented.

  • I'd showed this song to my grandparents in 1985 but they insisted it was crap and that I should be listening to the talented musicians of their youth in order to know the difference between good music from crap.

  • That's the problem with older generations...narrow-mindedness. To them only music that's gone before is any good.

  • Wait till you're old son, you'll be saying EXACTLY the same. You'll be as "narrow minded" as your grandad. And before you decry what I am saying, wait till when you get there, and then you will know that what I say is true. To every generation, their's is the BEST music ever. Nothing before or after EVER matches it.

  • Well there's good music in every generation so it's a foolish attitude to have. I don't consider the music of my generation (the '80s) to be better or worse than any other.

  • Good for you then, nice to have a reply from an open minded, well rounded citizen... ;-)

  • should be, still strange that a lot of teens say they like 70,s and 80,s music better than today,s music, there,s a shift. something strange happening that never happend before, teens don,t like the music of their own time, a sigh for the misic business to stop with instant artist they pull out of cans! I red many comment like "I,m 15 ,why can,t music be like this anymore "etc .

  • That's a sentiment that goes back a long way. You'll understand why someday.

  • I just bought the Cafe Bleu version of the album My Ever changing Moods. And I had no idea that the British version was simply Paul and the piano. It's a beautiful version. This video is fun.

  • Great Tune. Paul Weller was "The" Main Soulboy/Mod in England and the Italian Road bike thing seems to play into the Mods fixation on Italian Fashion/Clothing. Basically it's Mod culture with a twist instead of riding Vespas/Lambrettas they are on Roadbikes as a gag. On the street these guys always looked like a million bucks! Great Band Great Times!

  • This is real music, for men like me.

  • The Jam, Style Council or Weller were never had good music videos...

    but the music is fantastic

I can listen to it over and over and it will never get boring

  • Quem dirige na hora de almoço aqui em Sao Paulo escutando radio eldorada tem a sorte de escutar este cançao as vezes.

    maravilhosa!

  • This song is Dope!!!

  • oh, flesh song!

  • I bought the 45" single in '84! Sophomore year of high school.

  • So did I ! It's funny how time flies, great song great times!

  • I respect this song and how it can create a good feeling.

  • This is my all-time favorite song; it takes me back to the 80s when I was a carefree teen. :)

  • Ha Ha You're not carefree anymore, you got bills to pay and a boss to please!

  • cycling "hard" and sing a song, lol

  • One of the bests songs of Paul Weller. I really love this video and Cicling is my favorite sport. I've got one of those bikes too. Great Video.

  • The Jam, Style Council or Weller were never had good music videos...

    but the music is fantastic

I can listen to it over and over and it will never get boring

  • Agreed. I have no idea what they're trying to convey with the video, but damn, the song is great.

  • I totally agree with you. And most than this, when I hear their music I m transported to other time and place.. I feel they are magicians, a god gift. T

hanks Paul and MikeI can recomend you "The paris match tracy thorn version"

    I m sure you won´t be desappointed.

  • isn't that the chick from "Like the Desert Miss the Rain" and from Massive Attack's "Protection"?

  • Hi

I don´t know much about these songs I just like some style council songs. So I think you´d better hear this version "The paris match tracy thorn version" (look 4 it)

I know some people said that Tracy Thorn was the singer of everything but the girl long time ago but i don´t know much about Tracy Thorn and everything but the girl except this chick is very very ugly but also a talented one singer.

  • Tracey Thorn from Everything But the Girl, yes, she did collaborate with TSC on Cafe Bleu.

  • The way I look at, I think they were just trying to be tongue-in-cheek. Weller said himself he and Mick were just "taking the piss". LOL ;-)

  • ¿taking the piss? This song doesn´t really matches with what I supposed it to be.. the way I see it is we all have different states of mind and in a strange way they are trying to hide away from anything .. but this videoclip is really strange, however is a great song LOL!!

  • Great music the 80's...not like the shit they're playin today

  • Good memories to this song...glad soooo many peeps love this band too!!

  • Wonderful song. I love the Style Council and the freedom Paul tried to introduce into British rock and roll. Greatest left wing pop star since Pete Seeger.

  • This should have been a bigger hit in '84-85. Had it came out in late 60s or early 70s might have been bigger.

  • Love this song, its like the perfect song to describe my personality :)

    Style Council was the best...

  • mr weller invented cooooooooooooooool

we luv ya paul keep the faith

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Just so infectious and puts a smile on your face.

  • Ditto! :-)

  • More than the songs of the Prodigy?

  • reminds me of having my first scooter, a Vespa 50 Special when I was 16...those lycra boys on bicycles were faster than me !! :(

  • i had a honda elite 80 around the time of this song.. it would do 45ish

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs! These guys are so cool and always will be!

  • dayum, look at those old school leg grenades Paul and Mick were riding back in the day! Awesome bikes!

And the gear they were wearing!

Paul was cool before it was cool!!!

  • At the beginning of the video I expected to hear some pimply face young guy type music. I am only glad that I have heard the song many times and knew that there was great music coming sooner or later.

    The video isn't bad either.

Whatever happened to these guys? They were so soulful.

  • Paul Weller has a successful solo career (in the UK anyway), Mick talbot? Dunno about him, porbably worked in a few small-scale music projects in the '90s at most.

  • This is probably the best tune from TSC, and prhaps oe of the best tunes Weller's ever written in his career. easily up thre with his best Jam material as well as Wildwood and the Changingman.

Like how it's about politics on one lever,a nd then about his own moods as well (and maybe even about the moods of everyone around him too).

  • This just makes my mood happy!

  • magnifc

  • Now, if more band, artist etc give the oppurtunity to buy the song on iTunes and put it on your iPod immedly instead of have to searching for it that is clever use of u tube!! And they dont need to remove the video because of authors right because now people can find it easaly, and spread it around, Clever and exactly what I mean.USE IT in advantage instead of REMOVE it!! Hear Hear for Style Council for setting an example !!

  • This is free advertising for any artist, USE IT instead of loose it !!!

  • You mean: "Shake it, but don't break it?" lol.

  • Great song, sucky video.

  • Great song, hilarious video.

  • Bitterest Pill is a better video, in my oppinion.

  • Who cares about the video...the song is so awesome. I get in a good mood every time I hear it....

  • Yeah, you said it. This is definately a good mood song.

  • Excellent song!! Classic band!!

  • great song by weller!!! this guy has made some great tunes over the years from his jam days to the present day keep them coming paul!!!!!!

  • "Evil turns to statues, the masses form a line, but i know which way i'd run to if the choice were mine". Still my fav P.W lyric after almost a quarter of a century and i think it's fair to say there are quite a few to choose from. Happy Xmas to all Weller fans. Jez, Waterloo

  • Bought this 45" back in '84. Played it over and over again.

  • I love this song man, and a co worker plays this a lot

  • This song is amazing..now where do you buy the disc...

I have looked everywhere for this album...

  • MERCI POUR LE CLIP

    TECKMASSE

  • mint

  • love the song, paul weller sexy.

  • This song is for 80s fans... Posers need not apply.

  • Quite possibly the best pop song ever written IMO.

  • agreed IMO

  • those bikes are SNAP!

and the choone?.... the absolute top!!!

  • Mau mau, me likey.

  • Anyone else think Michelle Branch ripped off this song with the game of love?

  • YES!

  • Now that you mention it, YES!

  • good tune- a true classic and brings back wonderful memories-really wonderful

  • Damn this is good... these guys voices sound so good together. Brilliant!

  • I DIG IT!

  • Excellent Tune!

  • Paul Weller will forever be.....at heart I can see his reverence for R&B ....he is one of few outside the African diaspora that will forever have a seat at the table.

  • what a tune love it

  • Have to shut the blinds everyone is looking at me jumping up and down in front of the computer...........one of the best! happy memories.

  • One of my all time favorite songs, but what an awful video.

  • Totally agree, one of my all time favs, but the video? what where they thinking?

  • Great song . Your point is valid but I'd rather

have a great song with a bad video than the

other way around . To many bad songs- with visual production .

  • Not true, its a great video

  • Wasn't there a video of this song (at least in US) where Paul Weller's mate is not riding a bike, but playing piano whilst riding on the back of a lorry? Also, Weller does not "tip" at restaruants cos he's a "socialist" (said my ex gf who served him at a wine bar in London 1986)

  • what a tune. songwriting at its best.paul weller is a god.

  • Brilliant Song!!

I haven't heard it in ages, but the feeling stays the same throughout the years.

    TSC you are the best!

    Thanks for posting!

  • thats one hell of a drummer of only 18 summers.

  • AH! Another one of my all time favs of these, thanks for posting!!!!!

  • I love the style council!! my dad got me into them!!! THANK YOU DAD!!

  • Ah yes! What a great song! I have been trying to identify this song for a LONG time. I heard it over a grocery store music station, which probably uses Sirius or XM, but the lyrics were so hard to discern. Recently, I was in the store again and I wrote down what I could understand and have been searching Google for the past couple days and then, BAM! Thank you, YouTube and thank you finestrasulcortile for posting this. A favorite song from the '80s that I had almost forgotten about! Cheers!

  • You must have been over here, they do run certain songs in the ground.

  • paul weller is a genious!!!

  • I love the middle eight in this.

80s music wasn't as bad as people say it was. Aside from many great pop songs, you had the Smiths, Elvis Costello, Prince and Tom Waits at their height. There wasn't anybody in the 90s or now to compare to those guys when it comes to talent.

  • great song from the 80s but kinda silly video!

  • This was one of the best of the '80's,unfortunately forgotten by radio like so many others.Style Council had another one that was almost as good in "You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened."

  • Exactly what I was thinking today, you never hear this on the radio, don't know why. Totally agree about best thing.. and I really like Paris Match as well.

  • Yeah Forgotten by US radio stations who play the same songs continually. Style Council are aired in the UK daily.

  • ONE OF THE FEW CLASSICS FROM THE 80S..

  • Are you kidding? the 80's was FULL of classics!

  • The 80s were shit. Techno pop, Phil Collins-type drivel, Boy George, bad Zeppelin, horrible "power ballads," Leppard/Adams/Quiet Riot-type rubbish, Michael Jackson... pardon me while I puke...

Every decade has a few bright lights, like Weller & Co.

But really... shit decade for music... as was the 90s.

  • 90's music was awesome!!

Britpop - Pulp, Oasis, Blur, OCS, Manics, Stone Roses, Stanley Road, and dare i say, Tke that and the Spice girls

  • Yes, you make a good point.

Jarvis Cocker and Pulp were great. As I said, every decade has its bright lights.

But let's not forget the 90s also gave us C+C Music Factory, which threw the world into death spiral of "dance" shit.

Boy Bands like NSYNC, Boys to Men, New Kids on the Block... loads of rap acts sampling "classic" riffs and melodies to create shit hybrids.

There was dub, dance, beat, house... DJs becoming music stars????

Thanks to grunge and Britpop for saving the day.

  • 80s were full of shite more like...

  • I love both the single and album versions of this song. Paul Weller certainly can sing soulfully!

  • ignore the video just dig on the instruments.great song.

  • Can someone post Money Go Round? That's my fav Style Council song!

  • god forgot how much i loved this song as a kid, a classic

  • One of the greatest songs with funnist video

  • Paul Weller is a great song writer and the Style Council made many great songs such as this one, though have to admit, they made some crap videos tool like this one.

That's life I guess, can't have it all.

  • Great song to smoke weed to.

  • good old days ! real tune ! memories of dennis avery xxx

  • this song is awesome

  • Weller, 50 today!!

    Happy birthday, Paul!!!

  • one of wellers best ever songs...showing now how well it stands up to the test of time.

    Superb

  • If you enjoy this song, you'd probably also like "Digging Your Scene" by the Blow Monkeys.

  • Yup. Got it on my playlist

  • Took me a long time to identify the song/group from a memory fragment. Thanks for making this available to confirm it. Can't get enough of it now!

  • this song is incredible

  • The song of my life.

  • For some reason the sight of Paul Weller riding a bike seems somewhat strange.

  • I was watching vh1 classics about a year ago and I saw this video. I had never heard this song before. I love it and I quickly downloaded it. I run it all the time. I don't understand the video though. Makes no sense to me. Thanks for posting.

  • The video was the one that got my attention, then the music. I find the contrast of the cycling and the idyllic English country with the monochromatic photographs of (what I believe came from) the Indo-china war intriguing.
