  • I was their for in the crowd when they played, left Cali in 1982...oh boy oh boy, had to sleep in the parking lot..

  • Just imagine being there

  • Bonzo is on fucking fire in this one!

  • Unbelievable

  • This footage isn't all from the L.A. Forum...

  • Hi, this video is from the Birminghma Alabama show in May 1977. The soundtrack is from the LA Forum show on June 21st.

  • @ledzep75254 IN BIRMINGHAM THEY LOVE THE GOVNA'

  • simply impossible live sound!!!!!!!! plant must have felt all the air currents....

  • I'm not telling a lie I was at this concert the left of stage the first lower section above the floor section,it was one of my favorite concert's I've ever went too! thanks for sharing!

  • i love all you zep heads of which i am one to note that this is b'ham AL w/Los angeles audio.....but the sychronization is pretty fucking close!!

  • i love all you zep heads of which i am one to note that this is b'ham AL w/Los angeles audio.....

  • bonzo forever!

  • Yeah I was at that concert the inglewood forum in LA CA.WOW what a night.

  • @jamgarza1 me too!

  • Probably the best concert that I've ever been to. Hot blonde in arms, custom Trans Am, and Zeppelin - impossible to beat!

  • Amazing version!

    Bonzoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo rules!

  • @worldwidekillaz yea the video is Birmingham but the audio is 6/21/77 LA

  • This is Birmingham Alabama, not LA forum.

  • Fuzzy resolution, but better than nothing.

  • BONZO!!!!!

  • I wish I could be there.

  • They rules.....!

  • This has got to be one of the best Led zeppelin live performances.

  • Yeah Peart fans, listen! Bonham is the man!!!

  • With all due respect, I am as much in admiration of John Bonham's performance here as most of you, but I feel the need to remind you of the term "Rhythm Section". There are two men rowing the boat here, and these would be John Bonham and John Paul Jones. Without getting into the technicalities of it all, John Paul Jones deserves his fair share of credit on this one.

  • He is keeping a rhythm, tool. He's just makin it a PARTY!!!!!!!! That's what it is!!! You listen to all the studio stuff, and its tame, and calm. THIS. WAS. A. PARTY.

  • Pretty sure this is from the first night of the Forum '77 shows. Or the third. Still, among the best Zep audience recordings ever (by the same genius, Mike). Bonzo was on fire both nights. As Luis Rey said, he's playing double-time on "Song Remains...". Many folks diss the '77 tour, but it had its nights of greatness. The L.A. shows were highlights.

  • @moondough Agreed! 77 boots are still some of my favs!

  • I was at this show. I was fortunate to attend 2 in 77' 3 in 75' 1 in 71' and 1 in 73' There was no better act out there. Always tore the house down. Led Zeppelin 4Ever!

  • it's a shame the Robert Plant consistently restricts Jimmy Page from NOT releasing Led Zeppelin classic live recordings. I's read some interviews of Jimmy Page where he says he's got tons of live recordings in great quality but is forced to shelve it due to certain people that don't want it heard. Jimmy also stated John Bonham's playing in the 75', 77', 79' & 80' tours was breathtaking!

  • @Champane97 Is that so? Can you please give me a link to any of those interviews you are refering to?

  • Oh yeah I was there. Brings back amazing memories.I remember it was the hot ticket and I waited in line sonewhere for Ticketmaster in 1000 Oaks, CA., big thing before internet. I am pretty sure it was around $20-$25 per ticket!! Thank you for posting this!

  • Somewhere out there is a girl named Linda who I took to this concert at the Forum in 1977 and we got our asses freekin' ROCKED OUT!!!!! There is NO band around that did what LZ did in the history of R&R.

  • I would have passed out at the first note lol

  • If I'd been at the front I would have been covered head to toe in my own shit with my jaw on the floor somewhere. probably 5 rows back.

    Utterly astonishing.

  • Thanks to my generous boyfriend (later to become father to my children :), I WAS there front-row-center (June 25, 1977) covered head to toe in my own shit with my jaw on the floor somewhere 5 rows back! ;-) (to keep fans from joining the band onstage, the stage was like 6 ft high, though, so I couldn't see what shoes Jimmy was wearing and stuff... not like THAT mattered or anything!)

  • @Monkeyslash wow way to copy that other persons comment

  • @jmarshmellowman Huh? Sorry I'm lost. Did I copy something?

  • @jmarshmellowman Ahhh, I see. It was actually zosocat who was replying to MY original comment. So no plagiarism on my part. Christ, why would I even fucking bother?

  • Bass drum rape. Bonzo leaves me speechless yet again.

  • that is bass drum rape

  • Certainly is my friend

  • and not even giving it a reach around.

  • I went on one of the 5 nights they played in June 1977 at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, CA. We stood in line on a Sunday nite in October 1976 at the Forum to get a priority ticket so we could come back the next morning @10 to wait in line to buy tickets. I was 17 at the time. Before it was our turn to buy tix, they sold out all 3 concerts. They added 2 more and we were able to buy 6 tickets each in the upper for $8.75 each. The concerts were to be in Feb,"77, but Plant had throat problems.

  • Pure time warp! Its vids like these that give us people that never seen the original ZEPPELIN live the feeling of being there. EXCELLENT!!

  • The Perfect BanD

  • THE MOST KINETIC thing ever in R&R....Just can't stay off your feet no matter what version...

  • ANDA PUT &fmt=18 at the end it helps

  • i am like so excited right now just by watching this its hard to explan!

  • I know exactly what you mean, i can feel the energy from this, it is AMAZING!

  • You're such a ghoul

  • I hope you get aids and die, and i will piss all over you on your death bed and then make love to your slowly rotting corpse.

    STATUS

  • that's what it's about man.. we just need high energy in music, like this again.

  • for real, these new bands everyone loves like all american rejects and stuff are fags.

  • I know, who the fuck covers "womanizer" by Britney Spears? The all american rejects are a joke.

  • 1) nobody loves the all american rejects.

    2) disco during the '70s was way worse than most pop music of today.

  • Disco worse than rap?

  • ya. i am a 16 year old guitar player. all this new stuff does suck. when will the other kids that listen to that shit understand .

  • What do you expect when "fashion" is more important than the music?? Its more about being seen with Paris Hilton (or seen IN Paris Hilton) than being heard as an ARTIST. Does anyone remember ARTISTRY? There are a few, but not many.....not like it was. If you weren't good enough, you didn't get out of the basement.....now anyone can be heard FROM their basement- its a joke, really. This was really great though.....thanks!

  • INSANE BONZO !!!

  • Bonzo is off the charts here...love it!

  • Ade smirked at this when I played It Listen to this Eddie on vinyl or Is this for badgeholders only? New Years Eve 1992 when Rabi and Martäng ünt Sarah, Kajj, were at my sisters flat this or from the 21 June but I belive this Is anyways he smirked at this In an affected or smugged manner he prefered Krouks, Mamsteen, and Styx, and Sabbath,

  • Listen To This Eddie...

  • This clip is NOT from the LA Forum in 1977, it is from Birmingham, Alabama also from 1977. It is taken from the official Led Zeppelin DVD release as an 'extra bonus' clip. This originated from an old video bootleg and Jimmy Page used it on the official DVD release.

    Rob/Boston

  • The audio is definitely from the Forum in LA. I don't know about the video though.

  • I believe the audio is from Listen To This Eddie...Correct me if I'm wrong...

  • Audio is definitely from Listen To This Eddie - LA Forum. Video seems to be a montage, possibly not of that show.

  • the video is from New York, Baton Rogue, and Birmingham. with the LTTE LA Forum audio dubbed over.

  • Bonzo led the show that night....

  • I agree. His bass drum never sounded better!!!!!! A full out assault on the audience.

  • This was one of 2 times i have seen them live,

what a friggin great time that was back then....

  • Holy shit! 2:51

  • Amazing drumming! Bonham was on fire that night, just listen to Rock 'n Roll at the end of the 3hr set! Pure energy!

    RIP Bonzo!

  • the AUDIO is from LTTE, but the footage is taken from parts of the show in Birmingham and New York.

  • Lol this took me ages too notice on my DVD

  • You can get it in "Listen to this Eddie!" live bootleg with better sound.

  • where can i get download the bootleg?

  • This can be found as a hidden "Easter Egg" on the How The West Was Won dvd set. The audio has been in circulation for years. It can be found on a cd boot titled "Listen To This Eddie."

  • Well, this is certainly a revelation! This video has been circulating for the last 15+ years as being from Birmingham. Alabama May 18, 1977.

  • I WAS FUCKING THERE!!!

  • And security didn't throw you out?

  • That was AMAAAAAAAAZING. ;-;

  • wow if only this was filmed properly it would be up there with in my time of dyeng erls court 75 > if not better

  • Whenever you hear thunder in the sky you can bet your ass its Bonzo drumming in heaven

  • @scarfacedan09 YOU HAVE THE COOLEST COMMENT ON ALL OF YOUTUBE RIP BONZO

  • wooooaaaaaaa....earth is shaking...

however since keith moon ,one of best rock drummers, was invited at the concert ...its certain that bohnam just wanted to show him whos who...

nothing makes better results then a little bit of competition.

  • Keith Moon was at the June 23 show, this footage is from the first night at the Forum, June 21st.

  • Keith Moon isn't even a pimple on Bonham's ass in my opinion! Bonham OWNS him!! BEST damn rock drummer of all time...excluding Neil Peart of course. Haha

    Peace

  • if they ever would have tried to out drum each other, they'rd be massive earthquakes

  • that would split the world in half

  • Except that Moon was Bonham's favourite drummer...

  • Nope, that was Gene Krupa.

  • other way around

  • the best rock band

  • Oh, Bonzo, could you not have drunk just enough to let you keep breathing?

The song definitely is not the same, all due respect to your kid.

Page knew how to put together a band.

  • look! look! bonzo is producing earthquakes!!!

  • Frigin awesome. THANK YOU.

  • I went to this concert and I went to Chicago in 1975 in January! They played awesome! I love this band!

  • like bluefairy513 said, it was crazy loud! i thought i was deaf when i left.

  • @christian112499 you are very lucky, Sir!

  • One of the greatest drum exhibitions ever. Bonham is on FIRE! Bonham! Bonham! Bonham!

  • john bonham is scary...the greatest drummer in history

  • Does anyone know if this is the "Listen to this Eddie" boot version?

  • Yeah it is, 6/21/77

  • Omg , i knew of the bootleg on the 2003 dvd , but i didn't realise at the time that it was LTTE, and video too!! :DDD

  • I WAS THERE!

  • I really envy you!! Was it loud?

  • It was SOOOOOO loud!My parents came to pick us up and said the show could be heard clearly for blocks around the forum. My ears rant for about 24 hours.

  • Did you have to camp out to get ticks?

  • I used a ticket service. We had to pay exactly twice the price for tickets guaranteed to be in the first fifteen rows. This meant my friends and I had to pay 40 bucks each. LOLOLOL! What a deal!

  • I bet they were phenomenal even if they werent playing at their best right?

  • dude how did u get this can you send it to me

  • its on the Led Zeppelin DVD, just go to the different menus and let it play. You can see the menu on the bottom here.

  • Seriously, John Bonham!

  • i know eh this has got to be one of his best
