I'm not telling a lie I was at this concert the left of stage the first lower section above the floor section,it was one of my favorite concert's I've ever went too! thanks for sharing!
With all due respect, I am as much in admiration of John Bonham's performance here as most of you, but I feel the need to remind you of the term "Rhythm Section". There are two men rowing the boat here, and these would be John Bonham and John Paul Jones. Without getting into the technicalities of it all, John Paul Jones deserves his fair share of credit on this one.
He is keeping a rhythm, tool. He's just makin it a PARTY!!!!!!!! That's what it is!!! You listen to all the studio stuff, and its tame, and calm. THIS. WAS. A. PARTY.
Pretty sure this is from the first night of the Forum '77 shows. Or the third. Still, among the best Zep audience recordings ever (by the same genius, Mike). Bonzo was on fire both nights. As Luis Rey said, he's playing double-time on "Song Remains...". Many folks diss the '77 tour, but it had its nights of greatness. The L.A. shows were highlights.
I was at this show. I was fortunate to attend 2 in 77' 3 in 75' 1 in 71' and 1 in 73' There was no better act out there. Always tore the house down. Led Zeppelin 4Ever!
it's a shame the Robert Plant consistently restricts Jimmy Page from NOT releasing Led Zeppelin classic live recordings. I's read some interviews of Jimmy Page where he says he's got tons of live recordings in great quality but is forced to shelve it due to certain people that don't want it heard. Jimmy also stated John Bonham's playing in the 75', 77', 79' & 80' tours was breathtaking!
Oh yeah I was there. Brings back amazing memories.I remember it was the hot ticket and I waited in line sonewhere for Ticketmaster in 1000 Oaks, CA., big thing before internet. I am pretty sure it was around $20-$25 per ticket!! Thank you for posting this!
Somewhere out there is a girl named Linda who I took to this concert at the Forum in 1977 and we got our asses freekin' ROCKED OUT!!!!! There is NO band around that did what LZ did in the history of R&R.
Thanks to my generous boyfriend (later to become father to my children :), I WAS there front-row-center (June 25, 1977) covered head to toe in my own shit with my jaw on the floor somewhere 5 rows back! ;-) (to keep fans from joining the band onstage, the stage was like 6 ft high, though, so I couldn't see what shoes Jimmy was wearing and stuff... not like THAT mattered or anything!)
@jmarshmellowman Ahhh, I see. It was actually zosocat who was replying to MY original comment. So no plagiarism on my part. Christ, why would I even fucking bother?
I went on one of the 5 nights they played in June 1977 at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, CA. We stood in line on a Sunday nite in October 1976 at the Forum to get a priority ticket so we could come back the next morning @10 to wait in line to buy tickets. I was 17 at the time. Before it was our turn to buy tix, they sold out all 3 concerts. They added 2 more and we were able to buy 6 tickets each in the upper for $8.75 each. The concerts were to be in Feb,"77, but Plant had throat problems.
What do you expect when "fashion" is more important than the music?? Its more about being seen with Paris Hilton (or seen IN Paris Hilton) than being heard as an ARTIST. Does anyone remember ARTISTRY? There are a few, but not many.....not like it was. If you weren't good enough, you didn't get out of the basement.....now anyone can be heard FROM their basement- its a joke, really. This was really great though.....thanks!
Ade smirked at this when I played It Listen to this Eddie on vinyl or Is this for badgeholders only? New Years Eve 1992 when Rabi and Martäng ünt Sarah, Kajj, were at my sisters flat this or from the 21 June but I belive this Is anyways he smirked at this In an affected or smugged manner he prefered Krouks, Mamsteen, and Styx, and Sabbath,
This clip is NOT from the LA Forum in 1977, it is from Birmingham, Alabama also from 1977. It is taken from the official Led Zeppelin DVD release as an 'extra bonus' clip. This originated from an old video bootleg and Jimmy Page used it on the official DVD release.
