I'm ashamed to say I was not aware of Sen. Wellstones' greatness. It just shows how dirty, Business as usual crap turns citizens off to the politics. I asked Bush and both my California Senators to stay out of Iraq. Disappointing huh?
Thank you Senator Durbin for your recognition of this great man. I gave you a photo I took with you and Paul and Sen. Bob Kerrey of Nebraska and now I can see even more significance in your reaction. He was a strong principled and noble man and I think his influence has rubbed off on you.
I saw Wellstone speak agains the "War on Drugs". I asked him about the influence of the Military Industrial Complex on policy making and he said it was huge. In his speach he also talked about internal elites making a huge profit on the drug trade. I should have known he was bound to be assesinated but is hard to imagine events around you will be history when you are part of them

I wondered, to, why Wellstone's plane crashed and I worry about the safety of Senator Durbin. Certainly these are very disturbing times.
