In older versions when you entered the Lucky Star, you'd be right in the front door, so if you weren't already obfuscated and hiding he'd see you right away. If you came in the back, and he still doesn't talk, just stand outside the door and he won't see you. If it still doesn't work, then something else is wrong; you might be running it on an old save game.
As far as I know, I'm running the latest version with the pathc installed. It says up to 6.9 on the character creation screen at the beginning. When I go to the lucky star on this quest, it automatically starts me at the back and I hear the phone, so I go over to the door but I don't open it...nothing! Phone just rings until it stops. Sometimes I go in and stay out of sight by opening the door, going off to the side, then walking through, obfuscated. Still won't answer.
@ThornUvDaath777 Hmmm, I tried this myself, and was able to reproduce it ... but only once. The nice thing is, if he hears you, sees you, you can leave and come back and try it again. If you just leave and come back, the phone call will start again. Also, try sneaking up to the door so he doesn't hear you. I remember making him almost deaf, but he still had super sonic hearing, so it's a bit finicky.
Just fair warning though, the voice acting really is bad. It's me = )

I'll try that next time I'm a nos. I think it would be cool if you have obfuscate 5 to just get on his computer anway, that way he wouldn't see you at all. He'd just be like "Ah! Ghost!"
@ThornUvDaath777 Yea man, I made it. I usually go by the handle burgermeister01, but this is my YouTube account. I should take your advice though and change it so that it's easier to just hack into the computer. I actually like that route better, aside from the voice acting sucking, it's cooler to hack into his personal files. There's a bunch more I didn't even show in the Let's Play video.
My reaction exactly. Thanks SO much for putting these up. I wasn't so sure I wanted to get the mod (as I'd have to reinstall the game for it) but now I'm definitely convinced. I'm totally downloading it.
