  • Today most gospel singers often want to copy the singing style of pop stars sing a lot. You cannot tell the difference between gospel and circular music anymore.

But there are people like Dotty whose simplicity of style will always touch your heart.

Thanks for this great post. God bless.

  • I sang with a group for 9 years and we sang a lot of her song, and Bro. Clentin sang this one a lot, Now I know they can sing it together. Now they are in a place were there will never be any pain. God is still useing Dotties's song to reach the lost. Glory to God for her.

  • of all the songs she penned by the holy spirit

iam sure now with the Lord, its greater than

she could have ever thought. she had to much

    to gain to lose........

  • I wish they would make a movie of her life, and put it on life time, because her life would bring so many people that never heard of christ, or her , {to Christ.} She gave all the life she had to Christ, her family, her friends and the world, inspite of her back pain. I sure do love her, and I know she is with Christ, enjoying her rest.

  • i think that is a fantastic idea about a film of Dotties life, when i first got saved we sang her songs and it wasnt till much later in my life i got to know more about the women behind the songs,im from a small island of scotland and it shows dottie rambo influenced the world for jesus christ.

  • A woman of faith, like the scripture say, they dwelt in tents and caves, looking for a city with foundations whose Builder and Maker is God. You were an epistle written by the Hand of God and posted to those of the household of faith,we sing your songs in the dusty streets of my home village and the presence of God becomes so heavy. Well done thou faithful servant. Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above, to the One True God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be the Glory.!

  • This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know how old Dottie was when The Lord took her home?

  • thank you Jesus, thank you for giving us this great gift in the life of Dottie. Just love you Dottie and I just keep thinking how you are before the throne, worshipping, singing and cheerleading us all on, to live and love and look to Jesus. Once again this brings such tears of love thinking of all that Jesus has been there through it all, and now dear one you are home and in His loving arms. You will continue to bless lives for all eternity always because of Jesus.

    too many trails are through

too many treasures are waiting over yonder

theres just too much to gain to lose

  • Verse 2: i've crossed the hot burning desert and i've struggled the right road to choose but somewhere up ahead I see cool clear water and defeat is one word I just dont use Chorus: (twice) too many sunsets lye behind the mountain too many rivers my feet have walked through too many treasures are waiting over yonder theres just too much to gain to lose ending: theres just too much to gain to lose too much to gain, too much to gain theres just too much to gain to lose

  • Voted Best Gospel songwriter of 20th century. Buck and my mom 1st cousins,Mom grew up in Dawson Springs, KY,as Buck, actually Hopkins Co.,KY (Madisonville is same county)-I was never close to them because they moved away about 1960 or so when I was 4 or 5. Lovells and Rambos fill that small place. Mom was a Lovell, used to.
