  • WHAT???!!! But am and most people ARE right handed.

  • this device definitely needs some customizable buttons and as it was said before - many of them.

  • You just took a 3D trackball out of a mouse. My crappy old Tsunami mouse does this. AND IT'S A MOUSE.

  • new standard in profeccional 3D interfacing? hmm... i've never seen one being used in any engineering office - what i do see on the other hand are the 3DConnexion mice.

virtually every cad engineer i know has one of those (including me)

  • @mysql123456 Your comment was EXACTLY what I was thinking just now after listening that bold statement of THIS beeing the new standard.

  • @mysql123456 Hey, out of curiosity, is the 3dconnexion worth it for someone who only uses Lightwave to make 3d models for video games? Also, is the $80 one decent if the higher end ones are a little pricey for me at the moment? Thanks

  • @ElegyForTheMasses I say yes. I make 3D models for Poser in Max and it's makes navigating much easier. Like the commercial says, it's like holding the model in your hand. You'll get spoiled. Suddenly any app that doesn't recognize the space mouse will suddenly feel cumbersome and outdated, like Zbrush.

  • that's just awesome!!! I want one!

  • Or you could just like.. map the thumb button on your pen to the camera and avoid this all together?

  • hotkeys are golden and untill this device gets 20 customizable keys then it will not go big

  • chevere como navegas, pero que mas hace?

  • FYI...

There are more people who use right hand to draw...

    just saying...

  • @torokun Exactly my thoughts too.

  • Hmmm

  • well, keyboard and mouse (and tablet for sculpting and 2D editing) is still best combo. If I will use tablet for modeling and this 3D mouse for navigation, then I will have to dig through menus to get functions that I can normally get by single key stroke. And navigation with regular mouse in 3D space is fast and intuitive in every major 3D modeling software, so i don't see real application for this device in professional work. In mine opinion it looks cool, but is not practical.

  • @koberko It all comes down to a matter of habit. Right now we're all used to holding the mouse/stylus in one hand and hover the other one over the keyboard for shortcuts. I DO agree with you though, and would certainly not sacrifice my 'hotkey hand' not even for switching between this 3D mouse and the keyboard.
