Im from Vancouver, Canada. On December 27, 2008, NBC is going to rebroadcast the opening ceremony again at 8 pm. Dunno about USA tho and wut difference will it be when they rebroadcast it....

NBC even had the Olympic organisers re-arrange events such as the swimming finals so that it ran in Prime time in America so to not show it live is a disgrace.
I was not aware of that. Here is all about money, not quality. This is an event that happens once every 4 years and they don't even have the decency to broadcast live. I see people talking about the ratings and they forget the ratings were so high because it was China and everyone was waiting to see if someone was going to make a statement. If the USA is really for human rights no one should have watch the Olympics to ensure they make a statement, but then again, ignorance wins.
I highly doubt that peopel would wake up at 8am EST on Thursday to watch the Opening of the Olympics I could be wrong thou since you seem to be an expert on television ratings. Just FYI this was the most watched Opening Ceremony with 34.2 million viewers, making it the biggest television event since the Super Bowl and even eclipsed this year's Academy Awards and finale of American Idol but you should have already knew that right?
Someone told me that when the Chinese were performing the ceramic typewriter, the NBC spokesmen mistook it as Mahjong tiles. I mean, come on, think before you talk will ya?!
Do you really think so? I believe we were the only country that did not see the opening Ceremony LIVE....... So many commercials. I have friends in many countries and every where they showed the opening with very little commercials..

Thats terrible.
I am from Greece and we had two broadcasts, one live at 3pm local time and a second one the same day at 10 in the evening.
No respect for the viewers I would say!!
As for my opinion nbc also sucks because of their commentators.
See the Athens HD videos from the opening ceremony of 2004 and you will understand.

I agree with you 100% it was the best ever. My issue is with NBC for what they did...The most of the world got to see it LIVE.
