First off there is a sociological and political difference between economic and social views. This line seems to blur in our society.
Secondly I am not sure what you are refering to as a monarchy, it does not seem to make much sense.
Lastly I would say the unregulated government control and distribution would be fascism or economic nationalism and therefor right wing.

Social Democracy is devolving in Europe, as per EU plan. Telekom, transport, postal services, etc. are all being privatized,or already have been.
Generally, I find European healthcare works well. You can purchase services a la carte, if necessary, at reasonable prices from any country.
Each has independent syst & is very small compared to US. I wouldn't support EU-wide syst anymore than a US-national syst.
