No tengo mucho que decir. La Música se siente y las personas que te hacen sentir la Música merecen lo mejor. Gracias Magdalena, con este vídeo del Gran Maestro, me has hecho sentir muy bien el 13 de noviembre de 2011.
Bach es grande, inmensamente grande, nunca será superado, porque su arte combinó de forma magistral intelecto y corazón y, además, nunca expresó emociones violentas con grandilocuencia, sino con los sentidos internos de su arte. Y ahora viene mi contradicción: es el más grande sin duda alguna, en mi modesta opinión, que no de ja de ser parcial.
Y sigo. Después de lo dicho, y esperando que nadie se me eche encima (broma), diré que siempre he tenido y sigo teniendo una devoción absoluta por Bach. Pienso que fue un auténtico visionario, su vida fue sencilla y no se preocupó demasiado por el éxito. Esto le liberó de ataduras e hizo siempre lo que amaba : crear e interpretar música. Además, contrariamente a lo que se supone, fue un compositor extraordinariamente independiente para su época.
No creo que es bueno usar comparaciones para establecer quién es el más grande , esto es arte! no deporte. Pienso que hay muchos compositores que son grandes genios, sin duda, pero a esas alturas me parece un poco difícil decir quién es el más grande.Cuestión de gustos personales. Se tiende a decir cuando alguna música nos entusiasma: "Este compositor es el más grande que jamás he escuchado!!"
O maior presente que poderia dar um compositor de mais de 1000 obras é que sempre descobriremos novos trabalhos seus. Nunca nos aborrecemos, sempre nos surpreendemos. Podemos descobrir músicas de Bach pelo resto de nossas vidas, sempre haverá algo novo para achar e admirar. Obrigado, paquitolo, por essa magnífica postagem.

creo que habría que cambiar a Orfeo por JSBACH porque parece ser el padre de la música occidental. @skajmi His last wife was a speldid singer. I am sure Bach wouldn't hesitate to let her sing solo in a cantata or a oratorio. We must ask ourself: If he wrote music for young boys hows musical-training is limited, why did he write such difficult arias for them?

Bach para mi es un gran compositor. Es mi idolo. No me gustaban sus cantatas.. pero esto era por que toco violin y solo escuchaba eso. Pero ahora que la es podido escuchar de manera atenta, me disculpo con el y creece aun mas mi admiracion por este gran musico.

La rendición no ha sido sólo del gran público sino de los más grandes compositores. Desde Mozart, Mendelssohn o Schumann a los más críticos de hoy en día. Todos comparten la misma idea, la misma sensación: nada supera a Johann Sebastian Bach.

Su música es cualitativamente diferente; hay un nivel de conciencia superior, en un plano diferente a la mera recreación melódica, a la mera representación de sentimientos a través de la música. Hay un salto cualitativo en la conciencia del compositor que lo diferencia del resto. La música de Bach es los pilares del Universo.

Ese tipo de falacia se da cuando se afirma que una proposición es cierta sólo porque mucha gente cree que es verdad. Hi there. Well, in the info in this video she appears as soprano although in this moment you can read "mezzo-soprano" in her website. This is because everybody change the voice with the age.
I must say that she sounds with a velvety soprano voice, almost mezzo-soprano in this video.
She's a Mezzo and always has been. Mezzo's can sing both high and low hence y u will sometimes hear them singing soprano arias and also alto.. Look at Bartoli and Von Otter and also Kozena.
Yeah, I'm familiar w/ Bartoli and Tuva Stenningmen (spelling?) and I wish Magdalena had some more alto recordings... I love "He Was Despised" Handel and the Cornelia roles in Guilio Ceseare (spelling?)
I'm going to have to agree with you on this one... I'm a mezzo (countertenor) but I can sing a high C6. That doesn't mean I want to live there, conversely I perform down to F3 but again I don't want live down there. Voice type is more than range and color. You also have to take into account where the voice sits most comfortably which for mezzos is from around Eb4 to F5

Not really, Bach was a rather powerful character... he clearly cared for his choir member very much. I suppose the boy was lucky enough only to get a slight boxing to his ears. However, the soprano has a wonderful voice... simply the theme of the video is about truth (music) being expressed in different formats throughout time. However, there is still a binding similarity and discourse taking place through the medium and tablature of the very text and music.

Not really, Bach was a rather powerful character... he clearly cared for his choir member very much. I suppose the boy was lucky enough only to get a slight boxing to his ears. However, the soprano has a wonderful voice... simply the theme of the video is about truth (music) being expressed in different formats throughout time. However, there is still a binding similarity and discourse taking place through the medium and tablature of the very text and music.

Wonderful (But all those candles in the 18th century would have cost a bundle. The church fathers would have had a fit when they got the bill and told Bach he darn well better learn to schedule rehearsal during the daytime).
