@samcarterreloaded It would (in real life) have a counterbalance for fat people. Its chief selling point seems to be safety (although I wouldn`t want to eject with the props still spinning). There is also no sign of a stabilizer.
look at both VTOL aircraft from the 50's convair and lockheeds Salmon and Pogo aircraft, it is a tough sell and I wonder about the gear box on a contra rotating type aircraft as they have proved problematic in practice. Look at a flying model before making any claims

Did you say A "GREEN VERSION?" LOL!!! Start burning Hydrogen in Wankels and you're there. Of course you'll have to develop the carbon nano-fiber storage tanks first. But I'd say you've got your hands full with this. Why not do an R/C toy version to raise all that cash you'll need to make it work. Oh yeah, how will you address that pesky little DELAMINATION issue that is so close to the heart of carbon/fiber epoxy composite structures?
@paullubliner Unless you have a crappy mechanic or manufacturer, composite structures such as fiberglass and/or carbon fiber don't just spontaneously delaminate. The current state of aeronautical development has provided for great structures that can take a good pounding and still keep going. To what specific delamination issues are you referring to?
@cw8jwh Look into why the F117 is now out of service. The solution is a three dimensional carbon fiber mat. This has been solved, but not as yet addressed are the issues of increased weight (more resin needed) nor otherwise dealt with manufacturing issues as yet developed during tooling design and application. At present, the loads are directly transferred to a single surface where the resin is in contact with the fabric, hence delamination. Resin penetration of the woven fibers being the issue.
@cw8jwh:This because there are no tensile-loaded fibers connecting these laminates in the "Z" Axis, between the layers of cloth, the resin alone being the only structural member. It literally unzips under repeated flexing of the primarily stress surfaces and load-paths. A new 3D mat addresses this deficiency. That is why many say the new "Aircraft Wonder Material of the 21st Century" is, aluminum alloy. I see you haven't any "hands-on" experience in either fiberglass or composite construction.

@ZzRvXzZ "U.S.A will probaly attach some missiles and bombs to it and will start killing people."
Damn right. That's why you're not living under a communist dictatorship or an Islamic caliphate. Because the USA keeps killing freedoms dangerous enemies.
turbopropellers are already obsolete, I'd rather have a turbojet engine. I do realize a jet should not be able to tilt, because the hot gases would melt the frame. Instead it would require multiple movable exhaustion pipes like the British VTOL. The advantage of propellers is being cheap and offering more flying autonomy. On the downside, it looks and probably is fragile, prone to malfunctions and accidents. XXI century flying objects will be the new generation of zeppelins.
sorry to say but this is actually a downgrading in ideas. An autogyro is more efficient, effective and a lot safer than this "instrument of complexity".
I'd KILL for an rc version of verticopter! b4 making it full size, u should make a comercial rc version, therefore, u can work out the kinks, and tou'd be investing money; that when tou're r/c version is sold to R/C inthusiests wil make profit, and help get $ tword you'r future full sized models, and industry!

Looks cool but the cockpit is held on by a pretty small peice of fiberglass I trust fiberglass but it looks like it the cockpit could just fall off. Maybe you should brainstorm a little more then I might think about hopping in one of those things.
If the counter rotating blades are at CG she must have a heavy tail. Always leave the green electric option open and remember that in the event of a crash the vehicle is made out of fully recyclable materials :)
With the blade loading the autorotation would by nonexistant,NO auto and NO safe landing. and the prop interaction and body will make this a very noisy shitbox. And the drumming will fatigue the structure fast,Composet or metal your going to have a maintenance headach, Not a good idea,
I really like the design of this thing, adding solar paint as a coating to the plane could provide enough power to get this sucker airborne if it was left for a few hours in the sun, and once above the clouds in the daytime the aircraft could be self powered. If it was to follow the sun long enough it could even fly for days.
I think if they were mass marketed right now and the price dropped right down they could easily compete with the modern day car.

What a bullshit plot at running off with others investment money. I do 3d modeling and animation too and its so easy to "engineer" things like this that will never work. Unlike you I actually prototype the things I design and they exist on some scale in the real world. That's usually where you find out the REAL problems with what you designed.
The big thing you are missing is fuel storage. It takes more fuel to hover than fly forward with wings. I'm not saying it wouldn't fly, just not far.
@jimbo80982 you realise that a lot of cars and motorbikes have plastic gears right? Not the main driving ones, but they are in there. To keep weight down.
hey this works built one years ago good design stopped developement because it was to big to heavy needed to much motor and i did not like the idea of the props coming apart behing me and cutting me in half but i think these guys can build a good one so count me in too.
Best flying design I've ever seen. Compact and simple for low cost, and easy to fly since propellers are in the center making a fluid transition from vertical to horizontal flight. I want one!
У этого аппарата возникнут серьезные проблемы с устойчивостью, при зависании. В режиме зависания центр масс аппарата выше, чем точка приложения силы вертикальной тяги, поэтому Verticopter опрокинется.
@fsxzone "i prefer the moller m400 skycar" Watch the engine failure scenerios at 1:45. So called "flying cars" can't do anything like that. (though i wonder if this aircraft can really do those types of safe vertical crash landings.)
Such a professional narrated and graphic designed vid, and still you ruined it by adding fsx to it,
if you were to show professional flying skills but no, commercial break, buy this future plane and you see one roflcopter almost hit the water. I mean it stall dropped like 8meters in altitude and barely hit the water.
I mean fuuuuuk. How can you mixture that with such a failing fsx vid. this vid is a joke. Look i can fly!
what licence will be required?. Is it a plane, helicopter or both?. With it having 2 engines will you have to take several test's and if it is a turbo prop design how much is it likely to cost?.
One of the core problems is that the useful cargo area is at the far front and is very small. To make this more usefull, it may be desirable to switch to a two fan design, and position them either side of a cargo area. This can be very snug at the middle by tapering there. You might be able to switch to one, more powerful jet engine, but add safety by adding an electric boost option, that could operate to replace the jet if it breaks down for several minutes, and boost during takeoff.
You Are Living In A Dream World. Fiberglass - Carbon Fiber - Plastic - Etc
Is The Wrong Thing To Be Building An Airplane Out Of.
Maybe You Better Start Thinking About How Many Trusting Souls Your Going To Kill With This Piece Of Crap. Just Ask John Denver If He Still Likes Fiberglass Planes.
Fiberglass Snaps Under Pressure, Especially Cold Fiberglass.
@farmerstel1 They built airplanes out of wood and fabric for decades and some of the fastest stunt planes pulling incredible G's are made from carbon fiber. Plus he says nothing about fiberglass.

But I visited the site, and not only are they still trolling for investors, but it appears their "prototypes" aren't even to scale (they're models).

@paullubliner Unless you have a crappy mechanic or manufacturer, composite structures such as fiberglass and/or carbon fiber don't just spontaneously delaminate. The current state of aeronautical development has provided for great structures that can take a good pounding and still keep going. To what specific delamination issues are you referring to?
cw8jwh 4 months ago

I see you haven't any "hands-on" experience in either fiberglass or composite construction.

turbopropellers are already obsolete, I'd rather have a turbojet engine.

Fucking lame design.
h0troddude 1 year ago
One of the core problems is that the useful cargo area is at the far front and is very small. To make this more usefull, it may be desirable to switch to a two fan design, and position them either side of a cargo area. This can be very snug at the middle by tapering there. You might be able to switch to one, more powerful jet engine, but add safety by adding an electric boost option, that could operate to replace the jet if it breaks down for several minutes, and boost during takeoff.

Fiberglass Snaps Under Pressure, Especially Cold Fiberglass.
And Plastic Gears, Are You Kidding ?
