Never will I forget watching this vid back in the 90's. Those were my years for bboyin. I didn't make it to summit '96 but I was at summit 97(Balboa Park) and 99(UCLA). Aristan, flee, crumbs, Poe-1, and super dave came so hard on RSC in that battle. I don't think they were ready. This wasn't like when they had battled the Japanese at summit '95. STill a damn good battle though. Where can I get this on DVD or Blu Ray. :)
the first kat was ken swift who sat down shortly after and the other one I forgot the name but he was using kens style and this video definately looks like bboy summit 2
you couldn't be more incorrect. like i said before, the "first kat" "who sat down shortly" was MR. WIGGLES. and the dude uprockin was KEN SWIFT. get KEN SWIFT's 1st solo video, you'll see this part of BBOY SUMMIT 3 in it's entirety.
it does look like Ken's style.....O.K, I'm sold!! Since you have this video, I'll go by what your telling me.....this does look alot like Bboy summit 2 which I had a long time ago. Thanks for correcting me!!
classic vid...this was the shit that inspired us 3rd gen bboys/bgirls...it was like the emergence of the new school vs. the old skool institution...style elements brought it hard to RSC that day.
Yeah, it's always slightly spooky, when you find footage of a well-known event, that has been shot from a different angle/distance to the footage you're used to. This was also a very important video for me, back in the day. I loved the beginning of the original tape, when 'Dedication to Bambaataa' by Justice System was playing.
King Kenny Summit 3, not seen this angle tho

why he shouldn´t do any uprocks? maybe he tried to battle somebody? or he was just showing people/non-bboys, what a real oldschool uprock is... ;)
