Ok Chopin you've humiliated Mozart... Dear Valentina, WHAT THE HELL?! HOW YOU CAN PLAY IT !!!!!!!! (you're one of most brilliant pianists in the world)
We should have to pay to see this absolutely amazing human being play like she does. So precise, yet with so much emotion. It would be an honor for me to just get to talk to you, much less see you play. Play on. Play. On.
@MidnightRubberDucky Agreed! She plays with perfect precision, yet, also with deep emotion. .I know of no other musician such as her, at all. What an incredible gift!
caralhoooo. você toca uma musica difícil dessa como se fosse a coisa mais facil do mundo!!! quanto mais videos seus eu vejo mais eu fico impressionado.
Sounds pretty funny to play. I can only admire your relaxed hands! It just way beyond anybody I've ever seen. Not even single unnecessary stiffness. Just amazing!
haha without muscle memory I doubt 99% of pianists would even be able to play any song of this calibre all the way through! I know that without it I couldn't play chopin's winterwind etude whatsoever, it'd just be a melted snowflake! And of course Valentina once again does the best performance EVER....I hope I can become as good as her...
Hi valentina, did you, when you first started practising piano, do finger exercises such as Hanon? Do you think it's necessary? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. Thank You.
not a 100% necessary, but definitely a 100% recommended. do a lot of Hanon, and etudes and such, it'll help great. I couldn't play Bach's prelude in C minor for a very long time, then my teacher made me play Hanon and Czerny etudes, now I play La Campanella. Believe me, consider it necessary =)
In my opinion Hanon and Czerny are things of the past. There are better ways. Look up Fundamentals of Piano Practice. I think you can even download the book for free at the website
Valentina does spend some long stretches at the piano but I wouldn't just call that "practice" in the drudgery sense. More like consolidation and refinement. She already has a fantastic, deeply ingrained technique from a lifetime of hard work and learns new material very fast. Also in rehearsal she'll pick on small sections, slow them down and work on the way they sound (i.e. on the particular piano) but generally mostly limbers up for the actual performance.
Yes. The piece is normally for piano and orchestra. It is Theme and Variations on the aria La Ci Darem from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni. The fourth variation is the one she plays here. She makes it look easy but in reality it is very taxing to play, at least to those of us with poor technique. I would like to see her play the 2nd variation. I know speed isn't everything but we like to see virtuosity in action now and then. There are no other female pianists in her class and just a couple of men.
she's old.
