The fixation seems to be on the idea that someone else is fundamentaly at fault for all the evil in the world, that the responsibility for the current state of the world lies alone in the hands of a small elite.

This thinking doesn't help, again, it gives your power away and lets you give up your own responsibility. Responsibility = power
