I really liked Toyota for coming out with the first XRS, but I wished they had done more. Never really advertised it, and little coverage in the automotive press. It would not have taken much to give it a bit more power and handling to make it a Civic Si competitor out of the box. This guy seems to have done some homework to get balanced mods that actually work so that it not only competes with the Si but the S2000. Nice to see.
Honda and toyota build real motors blows a chevrolet crapper to pieces. They all are 10 years behind BMW M division and basically copy them. Take a real rwd bmw all day

@magusownz, yes, I know all about it. I had a Matrix xrs, and still own a 2008 Lotus Exige with the same 1.8 Toyota XRS engine. The new xrs corolla and matrix use the 2.4 liter engine from the older camry.
@fourliterv8, yes actually there is a Corolla XRS and a Matrix XRS. Both come with the 2.4 liter older Camry engine. You need to check out Toyota's website.
the s2000 has been pretty much the same car since 1999-2000, it can't always beat new technology and design. If honda wanted they could make a kick ass 300+ whp 4 cylinder NA car, but there is no market for it or it's overpriced like the NSX.

@mrlaocean its good and it feels so much better everytime you give it a little abuse on the highway. i beat a em1 with a ctr engine a ek hatch with a gsr , fa5 and i was holding close with a 300z turbo. i love this car to death and its good on corners too. if you ever been in a s2000 you wont tell a difference between a rdx and a s2000. i get it back hopefully this week. i was recently involve in a accident, i was rear ended.

If the 05-06 XRS was great, then the latest 2011 is fantastic, it has more torque and about the same horsepower. The 2011 XRS is so much easier to drive quickly since it has so much more low end torque, one does not have to take the engine to 7,000 on the tach to get high performance with the 2.4liter engine. For such a man like you, you are actually good. Yes I am the Toyota/Yamaha top engineer. I designed the XRS. I designed it as econo car / granny car. I designed it to get 36 mpg and spacious that can carry 5 person and boatload of luggage. I designed it big and bulky and tall but since I'm a genius it is still light weight and has a better drag coefficient (.30) than the overrated heavy slow s2000 (.38 cD). I designed it so that with just I/H/E it could kill an s2k for good.

the s2000 has been pretty much the same car since 1999-2000, it can't always beat new technology and design. If honda wanted they could make a kick ass 300+ whp 4 cylinder NA car, but there is no market for it or it's overpriced like the NSX.

@mrlaocean its good and it feels so much better everytime you give it a little abuse on the highway. i beat a em1 with a ctr engine a ek hatch with a gsr , fa5 and i was holding close with a 300z turbo. i love this car to death and its good on corners too. if you ever been in a s2000 you wont tell a difference between a rdx and a s2000. i get it back hopefully this week. i was recently involve in a accident, i was rear ended.

@mrlaocean you realize Hyundai just recently made that car. Let's see. Honda made the NSX in fucking early 90's with 270-290 HP from a V6. The s2000 was technology from 1999-2000, 240 HP form an inline 4. Let's see what cars hyundai had in early 90's and early 2000's, LMAO please go.

@riceboi1983 And, what age are we living in? I'm talking about now. I'm a Honda fanboy, I know all about the S2000s, NSX's, ITR's, etc. They were great during their time no doubt, but now, Honda is just weak and doesn't even compare when sport compacts are mentioned.

@mrlaocean but they still make great engines. i mean the k series and f series are bad ass motors. theres just so much technology behind it. imo the s2000 and the rsx-s were the best cars honda manufactured during the 00's cant forget about the fd2 bka the civic type r. and about the hyundai, well the 3.8 does 290 hp meanwhile the acura tl 3.7 does 305. honda remains to put out the greatest amount of power per liter. and thats just stock.

@mrlaoceanwell i agree with you the new si are ugly they look plain and boring. but im never interested in what the us market has i always look at the homeland, Japan. we are still early in this decade perhaps in time honda will have something badas, but know that we are in a new age. have you looked at the cr-z? electric hybrid might just be the new thing. and who has started that revolution? chevy might even make the new vette hybrid after this. todays laws arent the same as the 90's

@be4unvme Really, the CR-Z is garbage. A hybrid-"sports" car that gets the same mileage as cars that aren't hybrids. Okay, so what's the point of it being a hybrid. As for ugly/plain/boring, that's all subjective. My Miata is ugly/plain, but is more fun than any new Honda. I'm just saying, Honda has fell off. They cut ties with cars that were 'fun', S2000's/NSX's/ more lively Si's and heck..even chopped away on the RSX Type-S. I don't look at Japan..because well, USA doesn't get the JDM cars.

@be4unvme Impreza WRX, Mazdaspeed3, Focus ST, Genesis, V6 Mustang. Honda used to be fun, now they're boring and just living off their reputation that they created for themselves for years now. I remember how the 99-00 Civic Si was, fun car to drive as well as the 94-00 Integra GSR's. And yes, the SH-AWD tech is awesome, I concur. I just wish Honda would step out the box for a bit, and bring something 'more' to the table.

@mrlaocean the speed 3 has low quality parts, its cheaply made and interior sucks. bad motor mounts, the navi has a few ticks, but it is fast, its just rare to see a mazda reach 200k and performe like a champ like hondas do. the subaru wrx however is amazing i cant lie its a great car, but the latest model is kinda boring. it looks like a wagon. the focus a mustang forget it there amercan, horrible cars. and the st isn't in the american market or is it?

If the 05-06 XRS was great, then the latest 2011 is fantastic, it has more torque and about the same horsepower. The 2011 XRS is so much easier to drive quickly since it has so much more low end torque, one does not have to take the engine to 7,000 on the tach to get high performance with the 2.4liter engine. You must be some little american McDonalds worker, just like the rest of the americans!

Hey old man, there is no more 2011 Corolla XRS anymore, Toyota killed it when they updated it as it really didn't sell bc it was a stupid car not worthy of the sport compact name. The old 05-06 may have needed to be revved hard but it sounded good and was much faster than the fat, lazy 09-10 model with its lame Camry engine. And fuck you for assuming that shit, you don't even know me, take your European snobbery and shove it up your ass you arrogant, narcissistic ass, old man.

For such a man like you, you are actually good. Yes I am the Toyota/Yamaha top engineer. I designed the XRS. I designed it as econo car / granny car. I designed it to get 36 mpg and spacious that can carry 5 person and boatload of luggage. I designed it big and bulky and tall but since I'm a genius it is still light weight and has a better drag coefficient (.30) than the overrated heavy slow s2000 (.38 cD). I designed it so that with just I/H/E it could kill an s2k for good.
