Just got a Beautiful Ibanez EWC30 for a steal!

The guitar needs to be set up though. On the high frets the strings are about half in in up, Very high Action, I need it to be set to a very low action with a new set of strings. Elixirs maybe?

hey,

i've got the same nut issue on an electric guitar where the strings sit inside the nut,any good material to fill the slots a bit instead of filling down the surface of the nut?

If the strings are the proper distance from the first fret now, adding material (not a good idea) would make the guitar play like crap.

If the issue is as he described shaving the top of the nut is the way to do it.

If the stings are too close to the first fret you can shim the nut (remove, add shim and re-glue) or better yet replace the nut.
