  • The reason James Newton Howard got the job...he was sleeping with the director..Barbra S. SHE had hired John Barry to write the score..WHICH you can hear the one cue on Across the of Time..Flight over New York ....Well Barry said on TV..that it was the WORST experience of his career. REMEMBER Barry has won 5 Oscars..He knows how to compose music. Barbra DEMANDED he move from New York to Los Angeles to do the project..DURING the beginning. He refused...SINCE she was sleeping with Howard!!!

  • My favorites songs are Dinosaurus and Hidalgo :)...both are magic :)

  • Exquisitas melodias!!

  • I don't see this movie?critics please!!this song is beautiful..

  • arresting music...one of my ten best films...

  • Lush and moving.

Damn, you get around dude. I can still hook you up with Jenny. You should give her a chance. It might cure you from liking this gay music.

  • " On having ended the day I cross in car the city of charleston .. and while I cross the bridge that takes me to house ... I notice that a few words sprout me of inside cannot stop them not for which I say them ... but on having come to the high of the bridge these words come to my in a suzurro I say them as a prayer , they arise as a prayer ... as a lament .... as a praise ...... say:

    LOWENSTEIN.... LOWESTEIN "

  • What a wonderful score for a fantastic outstanding movie !! Babs, I love you ;-) !

  • sensational!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Barbra said that she wanted to cast a very beautiful woman as the mother, and Barbra thought Kate is a beautiful woman...interesting thing to me...when I first saw this movie, I thought the mother was a role that would have been perfect for Joan Crawford, had a movie like THE PRINCE OF TIDES been made in Crawford's heyday...and a role like Lila been written back then, like in the 50's.

  • God bless Pat Conroy and James Newton Howard

  • I had this album before listening like everyday but I broke it when I was in junior high.. thanks for uploading ! beautiful scores

  • Beautiful theme and a fantastic movie. Barbara Streisand proves she is not only a diva in song, but a tremendous actress and accomplished director.

In my opinion. Nick Nolte is America's greatest actor. Look at his characterizations of his many movies and I think you will agree. I only wish he would stay away from the booze and drugs and allow us to enjoy his talent and for him to enjoy the adolation he deserves.

Thanks Bob for the music, it IS appreciated.

    Best regards,

  • Beautiful musical score from a wonderful film... Such a wonderful story line; very touching and moving... very human. As always, Barbra succeeds in giving us realism and emotion. Wonderful film! :)

  • Hi...i've been looking for this film score on the internet for so so long...my torrent is stuck without seeders...anyone has the torrent, or any rapidshare files? pls...love this score so much....

  • The Prince of Tides soundtrack is one of the most beautifully exquisite creations I've ever had the pleasure of owning in my vast collection of movie music. It never fails to touch me deeply everytime I listen to it. It will always be one of my favorites. Thank you Mr. James Newton Howard.

  • @mystikfairy1231

I agree with you. I have seen this film several times and I like the playing between Nick Nolte and Barbara Streisand because it feels real and natural when you see they acting, And Nick Nolte have been my favorite actor since I saw him in Rich man poor man. And this film is the best drama i've ever seen and the music is beautiful

  • Love this film score, always have. Also thought that Kate Nelligan should have won Best Supporting Actress.

  • @JoshFi

With all due respect, and I do respect your opinion: The Prince of Tides is a masterpiece, and Nelligan gives one of the grandest supporting performances I’ve ever seen, and yet … it just wasn’t her year. (Nick Nolte deserved to win even more, as did this picture.)

Have you seen Mercedes Ruehl in The Fisher King that year? Ruehl won the Oscar that year, and she deserved it.

  • @JoshFi

    (cont’d.)

Oscar is fickle and unfair. Some of the greatest performers in the history of the silver screen have never won one: Irene Dunne, Barbara Stanwyck, Deborah Kerr, Gary Grant, Peter O’Toole, Montgomery Clift, Nick Nolte, et al.
