@ItaLyZPlaYa1 Not sure which channel button you are talking about. Do you have powered audio monitors connected directly to the outputs of POD X3 Live?
When recording how did you get rid of the feedback and how did you get the pinch harmonic sound to come through your speakers?-How have you connected your speakers?
@boony141 Pinch harmonics don't rely on feedback for their sound, so whether you are monitoring through speakers or headphones should not make much of a difference. A distorted guitar tone with good high-end (treble and presence) helps showcase those harmonics. I may have had my speakers kind of loud too, but I can't remember now! :) The speakers were connected directly to the XLR outputs of X3 Live.
Not sure what you mean by "how did you get rid of the feedback." Did you mean hum/buzz?
@boony141 You probably noticed some hum just before I started playing, and then it went away. That's because just before playing the first note, I rested the side of my right hand on the strings near the bridge, to control string muting/ringing. Once I came into contact with the strings (which are in contact with the tailpiece, which is connected to a ground wire in the guitar), the buzz diminished.
@boony141 By the way, I used to think that when I touched the guitar, I was grounding it, and that's why the hum went away. Actually, the guitar is already grounded (through the guitar cable, through the amp, into the wall AC outlet...) - It's really my body that is humming! And touching the guitar grounds ME! The human body can act as sort of a conductor or antenna, reflecting or radiating other sources of electromagnetic interference in the room (computer monitors, fluorescent lights, etc.).
Can i hook my pod up to a laptop or computer and record files to put onto my laptop, and if so what cable do i need to hook the pod to my computer can anyone please awnswer. :)
@6ties66 POD X3 is no longer in production, we have just released POD HD, but you can see the comparison of all the available PODs at line6 (dot) com /pod/compare.html
This question may sound stupid, but I wanted to know if the X3 live's midi capabilities allowed you to use a keyboard controller to play Reason/record. I am thinking that the X3 with my monitors and a controller could be all I need; if that is possible. I'm kinda set on this. Thanks these videos are very illuminating.
@yomomtubes2 All the MIDI controllers on the market right now that I am aware of connect directly to the computer via USB, so using X3 Live's MIDI input would be unnecessary, unless you have an older, pre-USB MIDI controller. In that case, it still wouldn't work, because POD X3 Live does not send MIDI over USB.
But the short answer is, perhaps indeed all you need is a MIDI controller (with USB), POD X3, and monitors as you say. :)
@dasang Which software are you asking about? In the video, I am showing Propellerhead Record. For editing X3 Live patches, you can download GearBox from the Line 6 website (under Downloads). All other updates for X3 Live (drivers, etc.) are also available there. Propellerhead Record is available from a music retailer near you. :)
@cptmacrozier Record does not support VST plug-ins. It can, however, be run as a ReWire Client (like Reason) inside a ReWire Host application that supports VST plug-ins.
@TuviaGering The drivers for the POD X3 Live must be installed on your computer, POD X3 Live must be selected in Record's Audio Preferences, and headphones or powered monitors must be connected to the outputs of POD X3 Live. The video should cover the rest-- Also you may want to consult the Record Help file if necessary (it is basically the Record Manual). I hope that helps!
Propellerhead is the Swedish software company that created ReBirth, ReCycle, Reason, and Record. Line 6 is their U.S. distributor. ReCycle, Reason, and Record all work with both PC and Mac. :)
How come I'm not getting any playback sound? The 'channel' button for out doesn't show it's blank but the other shows.

You should try Magix Music Maker. That's what I use.. And I love it. And it supports VST plug-ins. It's great.

is it possible to record with the x3 live through the usb?
thanks
TuviaGering 1 year ago
@TuviaGering Yes. The X3 Live will function as a USB audio interface. It uses a standard ASIO driver for this.

@line6movies could you please tell me how to do it? I mean, it's connected to the computer but now what?
thanks a lot

what is the difference between line6 pod x3 and line6 pod x3 live?*
joachimekstrom 2 years ago
@joachimekstrom one has buttons and an expression pedal so you can use it as a multi effects pedal and the other doesnt
xRazr567x 2 years ago
Pod X3 Live is a much larger device, it has an expression pedal which the normal version doesn't. And of course Live is more expensive.
