  • child abuse is a human problme that knows no bounds in our culture. it is not limited to a few practitioners of any particular "cult", "fundamentalists" do not teach child abuse.

  • Fundamentals are Christians but these people are not either.. A fundamentalist is someone who believes in the Bible as the literal word of God.. No where in the KJV Bible does it tell you to "beat" your children.. I consider myself a fundamentalist when it comes to the Bible but I'm not a freaking Satan filled psycho like these people.. These people are cults that label themselves Baptists and give that name a bad reputation.. This is evil and nothing more.. Pure evil..

  • ;'

  • I hate that all of these things have been done to these children and I believe that these people definitely need to be exposed for this! However, I am an IFB and I grew up in IFB churches, and just because there are some idiots in the IFB movement, as with ALL movements, does not mean that all IFB churches are like this. Obviously, these people are false prophets.

  • IFB = Independent Funnymental Buttheads.

  • The blood of many will be upon your hands. May the Lord speedily bring judgement upon you.

  • So the Bass parents were IFB? I read one news report on their case and saw nothing about them being IFBs.

All homeschoolers are not IFBs, and all homeschoolers are not evil because they homeschool. I think the true abuses in the IFB movement need to be exposed, because they are wrong. But each IFB is just that: INDEPENDENT, and it's wrong to call them a "cult" when it is just not true. For the dozens wrongly abused, THOUSANDS could testify of how they were helped.

  • To catergorize all Independent Fundamental Baptist as a cult or to accuse all who are affiliated or in an I.F.B. church is just the same as saying all black men are gangsters or all Catholic Priest are Pedophilers. Just because there are people, who happen to be associated with an organization, doesn't mean the ENTIRE organization or race for that matter, are guilty of those actions committed by some of its members. Lay the blame at the feet of the guilty!

  • I'll just put it in your laps people: Fundamentalists are not Christians.

  • fundamentalists are sick. they project their own internal sickness and perversions onto those they perceive as "different"

  • These stories are aweful. but to catogorize an fundamentals as a cult. isnt true by far if you study baptist distinctives you come to find that we arent rule freaks. and heres a little history baptists have helped shaped this amazing country called the USA.

  • Fundamentalism simply provides very disturbed people an excuse for their disturbing nature. It's never about God with people like this. it's self-serving and diabolical with wearing a God mask.

  • You know there are people out there who have fallen of the wagon and became intrapped by this wicked sinful world! Yes I agree what these certain Pastors have done was completlety wrong and as for there is a consequence for everything I believe these people need to have there consequences but just becuase these people did this DOES NOT make all IFB churches bad! But I am proud to be an IFB but @KameMidori11 we are not hypersensitive freaks!!!

  • @tinatink3113 Yes you are. Fundamentalists use their "belief" as a smokescreen to hide their true sick behaviors and views from the world.

  • Comment removed

  • Independent Funnymental Baptists are a bunch of hypersensitive freaks, especially over a bunch of silly things like shaggy hair on men. What's so egregious about shaggy hair on men? Nothing. The nasty disposition of the Independent Fundamental Baptists like Steven L. Anderson and Peter Ruckman is much more egregious than shaggy hair on men.

  • Unfortunately these things happen in all religious groups, whether fundamentalist or liberal, Christian, Jew, or Muslim.

  • I agree with one of the other posts. We are not all the same. The bible says your sin will find you out. Those people that committed those crimes should be severely punished. The devil wants nothing more than to destroy bible believing Christians. My heart breaks for those that were victims of these crimes. But please don't think that ALL IFB are like this.

  • We should bomb and burn these churches and mutilate their pastors! Hahahahahaha MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • Independent means self-governed ... which means these churches DO NOT affiliate to a higher organization (i.e. Southern Baptist Convention) and each church is separate. So to put each IFB church in a category is quite wrong. I hate the crimes of these sickos ... I hate it that they make the churches that really are for real look like a cult. So while I don't disagree with the anger you may have with some IFB churches, we are not all that way. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • Its a good thing these scumbags are being exposed for what they are. Nothing but an abusive cult no better than the Taliban. They are working for the Devil, and his minion of corruption.

  • Fundamentalists are fundamentally wrong always. That is a law of both psychology and philosophy, and there aren't that many proven laws that these related fields of advanced thought share, so this one really means something. Inhumanity is a mental degeneration that will escalate as long as it is allowed to escalate. The mentally degenerated need help; through promotion of regenerative thought patterns, and through pro-active discouragement (legislation) of (collective) mental degeneration.

  • this is ridiculous im an independent fundamental baptist and just because something like this happens at on church doesnt mean were all like that cuz its not the church's fault when they get a sick freak whose screwed up in the head who does this stuff. so stop calling us a cult ur as bad as that ignorant 20/20 reporter

  • homeschooling is not the mark of an abuser.how many kids in public schools are abused?

  • I'm an IFB and can I tell you I haven't been beaten, raped, or even abused!!!!!! Maybe just that church, but can I tell you I love my church, Pastor, and church family.

  • Sick assholes....this needs to stop!

  • Also, there are those who express extreme anger toward these abuses and the ones who have committed them, even using explicit language, who do so because THEY have been on the receiving end of the abuse. Take that into consideration before you rebuke them and preach at them. Those are the same kinds of words they were hearing while they were being abused. When that is the case, their expressions are appropriate.

  • I believe a radical approach is needed to bring awareness and acceptance to the fact that there have been and are very many IFB associated churches and extra-biblical beliefs that have provoked and even promoted abusive actions towards all kinds of people. I know. The out-rage that is being expressed by IFB defenders should turn to outrage against the known abuses. That and possibly removing the IFB label from your church is how you separate yourself from the evil association.

  • Nice presentation, but enough factual errors that make me wonder about the accuracy of the content. No doubt there are individuals that claim authority over others for their own benefit, but are you willing to publish a nice video on all of the success stories derived from activities at good IFB churches? Labeled a cult through ignorance. Ya think you're doing a good thing by exposing the perverts among us, many of these sick people thought they were doing good too. Iniquity = Twisted thinking.

  • These psychopaths need to be stopped! They belong in prisons or mental institutions.

    The sooner the better.

  • Have we seen enough child abuse in churches yet? Are we ready to reason on our own without the help of priests & ministers?

  • I hope that you will contuine to follow GODS will in your life. Our GOD is a loving GOD!!! Keep your eyes on Him and your life will be filled with joy and happiness and most important,,,,,, LOVE!

  • I love my Lord and Savior Jesus, but what is going on here IS NOT biblical !! Nothing you say could change my mind. These people will one day stand before their maker (GOD) and they will have to answer why they took His Word out of context.. I am Southern Baptist and believe we all are going to Heaven, the ones who have Jesus in their heart. You must accept Jesus as your personal Savior and repent of your sins. My heart gos out to these people in this video and hope that they can forgive them.

  • I have been in an Ind.Fun.Baptist Church for 12 yrs now and NONE of what this video shows is a part of it. I am not so ignorant to know that there is abuse by ALL denominations out there but you cannot say all Christians are apart of a cult or that they all agree with this repugnant behavior. I am a woman with her own mind, own opinions, own beliefs. I do not bow down to any man. Only to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am thankful for a loving husband who also happens to be my pastor.

  • nazi, they have to adhere to the church's authority or they will be thrown out. The bible tells us we are notto have anything to do with anything unclean or any abominations in the eyes of God. I use to be catholic all my life and then I realized through the scriptures that their teachings were false and against the bible. I would have been a hypocrite and liar had I stayed despite how many good priest there were. The bible says those who see are as guilty as those who say, get out now!

  • i will never understand why people, whether they are in some kind of cult or just plain stupid, would Ever want to hurt children. all they want is to be loved, nurtured, be a child, grow and learn as much as they can. if those idiots don't want kids then don't have them only so they can turn around and abuse them. i know someone who is close to me and has hurt (burned) her infant, and if i had it MY way the baby would be in my custody and never to see those ignorant parents

    again!

  • @Peugeot908HDIFAP

Yes, The Independent Fundamental Baptists usually belittle their critics since they think that their critics (critics of the IFB) are somehow not as knowledgeable as they are.

  • My wife and I were members at an IFB for 2 yrs and sure there were people there with problems, but nothing like this. Since my background is Southern Baptist they were much too Legalistic in many ways, but they do preach the word and love the Lord. Where we disagreed was their exclusivity such as when urging parents to send their kids only to IFB type schools and greeters couldn't wear open-toed shoes and very legalistic about even acoustic guitars in church. Silly things like that.

  • @sentry221 Yeah and beating their children a 100 times at a session, 4 to 5 times a day, and that includes 2 week old babies as well, and treating women like slaves, and letting rapist and child molesters roam free in the church while their victims are shunned and thrown out, you know little things like that. It's men like you are the reason this sick evil demonic places exist, apologist and deniers. Wait until the Jewish carpenter judges these churches and all those involved, just you wait!

  • @Allanlegacy43 You need to chill out and learn the real truth. There are Extreme situations in every church but that doesn't mean every church in that Denomination has the same problems. We had friends in the IFB church, used to go out dinner or ice cream with them and their kids. All well-behaved, no signs of bruises, etc. The parents were very sweet and gentle. They too had not come from an IFB background as did we either.

  • @Allanlegacy43 Perhaps there are some IFB churches that are so hard-lined that a handful of people in those churches (maybe 1% of the whole denomination) take things such as discipline to such an extreme that they become criminal. But, you can't lump a whole denomination as if Everyone is like that. As much as I don't agree with the Catholic Church there's no way that I would believe every single Priest is a Pedophile just because many dozens have been caught of doing that.

  • @sentry221 I disagree, These churches have a single ideology. They believe that man is superior to women and other false ideologies. There laws and rules are un biblical and un christian, the same as the pharisees and we know what Jesus thought about them. In front of the cameras and media they tell you there totally against this and that and there all for doing what is right. But behind close doors it's a totally different matter, they all fall into the party line just like some fanatical

  • @Allanlegacy43 Are you saying all IFB churches or are you saying these specific churches where the tragedies happened? I know that at least the IFB church we attended for 2 yrs did not preach that men were superior to women. They just preached that the position of men was as the Head of the wife but that does not make men superior. Jesus submitted to the will of the Father but did that make God the Father superior to the Son? Not at all! Just a position of authority.

  • @Allanlegacy43 yeah, cuz you're part of an 'ifb', o wait, no, ....u don't know what ur talking about

  • Certainly there are these isolated incidents of crazies in the IFB. And some religions have a lot more. Ron Williams, of HH, I think, was abused as a kid, and that's all he knew. He is probly not saved, just a form of religion, or the Holy Spirit would have corrected him. Same with the others. Lost people who call themselves saved. We really need to wake up in the real believing church and call these folks out, call the cops on them ourselves. 911 is there for a reason.

  • These same people criticizing the Ind. Bapts are the same crowd that got Lester Roloff tossed in the clink. You people know good and well there isn't a problem of this in the IB, but there surely is in the catholic cult of the dead woman. I'd focus my attn there 1st ifin I was you.

  • I am an IFB bible student. This is so wrong. There are no statistics to support this video. The IFB community doesn't preach on this. We do NOTTT believe in child abuse or child molestation. Where in the World did you get the idea that we do. Sure there are child abusers and molesters in this denomination. But there are also in all denominations, religions, and belief systems. Instead of attacking IFBs start focusing your time and energy towards a video attacking them themselves.

  • @ethan2bart Clayton Maynard of the Truth Baptist Church of Panama City FL, who was jailed for aggravated child abuse, actively campaigned against federal regulating of child beating schools. You IFB's want to have it both ways, claim it's only isolated incidents and but provide no accountability. You guys deserve to be regarded as sick fucks.

  • You people need to understand that we can not in any way condemn nor judge people by the misdoings of some. This's most likely been done by certain individual who hate IFB and I have no doubt if we look for dirty laundry we'll find it every where.

Who ever is free from any sin throw the first stone!

I am an IFB and if I'd see an abuse I'd stop it my self

now stop your bologna! and get a life

  • I am a IFB and I have never seen such, not that there might have not been, but you will find stuff like this everywhere you go not just churches but schools, banks, stores...ect what do we Judge evryone that works at a bank if you find out that one person there abused a child. Our Church is very loving and we have a bus ministry because we want to reach these kids that come from broken homes and reach the parents with the message of the Gospel of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

  • That's correct, IFB is not the only group who has abused and brainwashed their members. I just find it ironic that these people (I know, I was a former member) openly criticize and condemn the Catholic church for their scandals and abuse. I've heard them teach that autistic children are just rebellious and they just need discipline, locking the doors during church, Rock music is of the devil, calling a young girl a hefer during church because she wore shorts ect. You know, what Jesus teaches.

  • Abuse is a terrible thing and I certainly would never condone it. The perpetrators need to stopped and dealt with. However, to target independent Baptists as if this is something they promote and condone is just ludicrous. Unfortunately, there are bad people everywhere in this world....even some in the churches. I attend a fundamental independent Baptist church and it is definately not a cult and it definately would never promote these types of abuses!

  • @MyBentley12 Bullshit. The Michael Pearl theory of child rearing is quite prevalent among sick fuck IFB. Look at how many copies of his torture children book is for sale on Amazon. streetpreacherusa brought all of this to my attention. I have done 2 videos (1 false flagged) on this topic and shall be doing more.

  • @robertmike57 I'm not saying this kind of horrible behavior does not exist, even in some churches as well as so many other places in the world today, but it is not what the Bible teaches, and is certainly not a part of the IFB church I belong to.

  • @MyBentley12 LOL! you IFB's are a joke. Minimize and diffuse the blame you deserve for your sick perverted teachings of Proverbs. Sorry , try your shallow rationalization and denial elsewhere.

  • @robertmike57 Wow, there are some truly bitter and mixed up people in this world and you my friend are one of them. It's a shame you've allowed your bitterness to deny you true peace. We will all stand before the judgement throne someday and you can deny Christ all you want now, but at that day you will bow the knee and have to declare that he truly is the son of God. My heart goes out to you that you would someday come to know God's love and forgiveness.

  • @MyBentley12 I got you nailed on merits of your criticism, so you blow bullshit. Fuck you. Typical of IFB's to pretend to speak for God.

BTW, I did a video on mrpleasantpreacher the Child Beater where I criticized his views on child discipline. Just found mrpleasantpreacher's FB page inferring I'm an "enemy" and taking his words out of context. . I excerpted relevant phrases I found appalling as well as providing reference to the complete chapter. False witnessing there.

  • @robertmike57 And you have pretty much revealed who you are by the hateful, foul mouthed approach you have chosen to take instead of being willing to discuss the issue in a decent and considerate manner. You don't have to be so hateful, even if you don't agree with me.

  • @MyBentley12 LOL! I went to the foul mouth mode only because YOU were the one going to the ad hominum attacks to steer away from the issue that IFB's are rife with child abuse. I know how you IFB's love to provoke nastiness, so I was simply giving you what you asked for.

  • @robertmike57 Well, you are wrong....I'm not trying to provoke any nastiness...just making the point that I do not agree with child abuse, would never support it, and our church doesn't teach it...you just don't have all the facts. You are lumping everyone into one bag and it doesn't fit!

  • @robertmike57 I'm sorry, but I don't even know who Michael Pearl is. I don't follow a man's teaching, I follow the teaching of the Bible...God's Word...and I think you are wrong to lump every person who attends an independent fundamental baptist church into one group that abuses children....that doesn't even make sense.

  • @MyBentley12 I didn't say every person or IFB abuses children. What I can say is that the IFB's tolerates and protects jailed abusers like Clayton Maynard, who wins at beating back a Federal attempt to regulate substandard excuses of schools like the one he ran.

  • @MyBentley12 the independent baptist movement is a joke my father is an ifbc pastor and i was in it for 26 years it is a legalistic, judgemental, unscriptural, out of context teaching cult that kills the will of children and women as well as divides itself from the body of chist thats a cult plain and simple and most of all dr bob gray was my fathers pastor in jacksonville florida who died a couple of years ago but was a pedophile for over 40 years a pastor of over 5,000 people smh what a joke!

  • @ThePastornate what's the point in trying to discuss...you already have your closed mind made up and will not listen to the truth. I feel sorry for you.

  • @MyBentley12 sorry i have the truth already if you stay in this denomination i feel sorry for you my friend there is more to god then what these guys trust me i been there done that! God bless you!

  • @ThePastornate Don't feel sorry for me....I know Christ as my saviour and am living the abundant life. I go to a church that preaches the truth of God's Word and strives to practice it and care for people. What else could you want in a church.

  • @MyBentley12 Yeah...this is the same argument you hear from Mormons, jehovah witnesses, the children of god, jimmey swaggert followers....and on and on and on. What is truth? Truth is in the eye of the beholder or the brainwashed.

  • @johnny102marvin Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father except through me." I don't understand how my comment has anything to do with Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, etc. I just believe the Bible is God's word and therein is the truth.

  • @MyBentley12 so true, there are some churches that really protect the kids...they are extremely careful NOT to abuse or leave room for any abuse...each group needs to be carefully inspected for pervs and phys abusers before you join it, whatever group it is, religious or otherwise....and never submit to a "screamer"...the Holy Spirit convicts thru the preaching of the Word, Jesus never screamed the truth, amen?! Pervs are everywhere and they are experts at brainwashing...everyone. Pray much.

  • @MyBentley12 Actually, the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist movement is a cult. Look it up. There is a system of abuse rampant in the IFB churches and institutions. This merely touches the tip of the iceberg. There are IFB "homes" all over this country and abroad that meet out abuse in the name of God every day. From Bob Jones, to the Pearls in their child rearing books, to the literal interpretation of the KJV itself, beating a child is considered necessary to save her/him from hell.

  • I have two sons who are from my first marriage who are home schooled and sheltered from everything also in NC. I am in Florida and their mother proclaims to be so holy yet at the same time has done things to me to keep me from interfering with them that is so evil..I don't know how i can stop her. Is there any one out there that can help me?

  • @ryork77 -PRAYER.

  • It is insane to single out a group like this and say because of these instances, the entire group is bad. You could do the same thing with any group ever created. But hey. God said we would be hated, and He is never wrong. One more thing to prove it...

  • @shmokeshtack You nitwit! A normal person watches this and grieves at the pain these children endured. A cult member defends the group at all cost. You are nothing more than a cult member who lacks empathy. That's means you could be a sociopath.

Jesus said we would be persecuted for righteousness sake, not beating the hell out of kids. If he were here, he'd say it be better for you to put a milstone around your neck and be cast into the sea, then to defend this abuse.

  • @56frankm I am not in any way defending the abuse! If you would have even tried to consider my viewpoint you would understand that. I am simply stating that Fundamental Baptists are nowhere near the only ones who have been caught in the act of abuse, but we are pinned for it a lot more than other groups.

I do grieve at the pain of these children, but also at the way you so blindly accuse Baptists as a whole.

  • Honestly? I agree with scrivwin. These things happen in every group everywhere. I have been an Independent Fundamental Baptist all my life. And I love it! I have never seen or heard of anything like this happening, and if it was so common, trust me I would have since I have been surrounded by it my whole life. I have a great family, and every church I have attended has been wonderful. My youth pastors and leaders have done all they can to help me in life, not hurt me.

  • Gee, I bet there's no abusers in any other religious group anywhere. I bet they're all Fundamental Baptists. Atheists and pagans don't never abuse people either. Only Fundamental Baptists.

  • Comment removed

  • dont be confused I was at Hephzibah House and my youger sister was at Reclamation Ranch. This is real no doubt about it

  • @fangqueen23 I don't doubt that these things have happened....I just question the judgment of condemning a whole group of people for the sins of a few.

  • Crazy video. No one knows the HELL we all endured. We were beaten our entire lives with a belt and leather straps. My brother and I got it the worst my sister is just coked up on drugs and her life has been destroyed she tried to commit suicide while she was at Bobbie Jones. I'm screwed up myself. I HATE THESE PEOPEL

  • This is just the tip of the iceberg. I am older now and I was horribly abused as a child. I comforted myself for a long time that things like happened to me don't happen anymore in the IFB. Lately, I have started speaking out and have been disowned by many in my family for doing it. I will not be silent. This needs to STOP!

  • My wife and I attended one of these churches for 26 years, the greatest regret of our life. We found out much later that a youth pastor from Bob Jones U. was hitting our son in the privates during youth group activities as a joke when he acted out. We also found out our daughter was molested by a leader in the youth group. There is so much more to be said, but both of those children now hate church. I agree with bj. We were blind. Get out now. Don't let them hurt your children.

  • @imaxterrible Wow that is so wicked. I don't know how you restrained yourself(if you did) IF that was my son and my daughter that pastor and that leader would be in a wheelchair sucking their diner out of a straw. I know were suppose to turn the other cheek, however in this evil incident with my two children forgetabout it, they would have to pay the price, and they would. Id have no problem going to jail over my children been abused, none whatsoever. God bless you!

  • I rememer hearing this song a few years ago when a family member made a tribute video to two boys in our neighborhood who were beaten to death by their parents. I have never forgotten it.

Watching this now just makes me angry because I was a part of this religious group and this stuff was going on right under my nose. To other parents out there who are watching this and still in this IFB group: Please don't let them hurt your children! Get them out while you still have time for healing.

  • Disturbing! Makes you wonder why people give their hard earned money to these organizations.

God is not found in these Independent Fundamental Baptist organizations.

    Wake up, get out!

"Depart from me I NEVER knew you." Jesus

  • While the song is pretty over the top, the video is appreciated.

This video is wonderful as it exposes some and gets it out there

People, rather than praying for these other children needing rescued, DO SOMETHING! There is a bill in committee in the Senate, passed already by the House, HB 911, regarding teens in residential treatment.

As for Jesus protecting anyone, it is NOT going to happen, as it is NOT reality.
