  • medio tono abajo...

  • @sugarbist , seriously, Placido has sung dozens of times this part perfectly well :' Ah, ah, tu della...', but yo will not care that really. The only problem it is not technical is that you do not like him! Simply!. Ok, but don't be rolled up badly with the most important person in opera the last 50 years, like it or not! respect a little, man!. Enjoy!

  • @sugarbist, in Fanciulla, one of main themes is forgiveness, it seems to have forgotten about poor 60 old Placido!

  • @millonety123 E BRAVISSIMO NON C'è CHE DIRE..

  • @sugarbist , ah, ah,...ahahaha! ......you're a very World Class Plàcido Critial!

  • He should have sung something he was capable of doing in pitch. He changes the words at the end instead of hitting the high note on the AH vowel. He sings (Tu sei donna della mia vita, instead of ah ah tu della mia vita, Which is more difficult. Why should I expect anything more from a World Class Tenor. I guess I'm too picky, Whats the big deal?

  • Even though this aria has 2 B-flats,There are rest points where a tenor can recuperate before hitting the High notes. Here the hi-notes are A- naturals and Domingo also changes the words on the last A-natural and takes liberties with the music at the end of the aria. This is the 1st time I've ever heard a so called world class tenor transpose this aria and surprizingly change the words on the last hi-note, The musicianship that Domingo is supposedly noted for does not exit in this performance.

  • Okay....note the breathing....going high at the end.....No Way! He did an amazing job here! He broke tradition and went high and long...just amazing! At his age....or even year younger...that would have been exceedingly difficult! Bravo Placido!

  • U r confused... I didn't and I will never doubt the quality of his voice and his talent!!! His already a Legendary singer! But i dont agree on this... Transposing, only for been able to sing an aria... Better not to sing it. As if i will be able to sing like this at my 60'... Hm... I am very happy with the present... If u want to wait until then, your problem... Best regards!

  • Pitty .....it is transposed....

Not sung in the original key...

  • I would like to hear you singing like this at the age of 60, let us wait until then, then you speak ok?

    Kind Regards

  • @arisargiris the aria is in f scharp, here is in f

  • @ChalieChaplin It´s in Gb not in F# you can say that it´s the same but singing ain´t the same as piano playing. # is higher than b. Before the tempered piano a note was divided into 9 parts and inbetween where the half note 4 steps up where the Gb and 5 steps up where theF #. I have always felt that it´s harder to sing on pitch in # keys then if their in an b tonality.

  • @Bjoerrelli Well, F# is the same note Gb. This version is a half tone low for comodity: all tenors do it shows like this, but not in serious performances. Sorry for my bad english.

  • @Gustavian I have seen a song that were in a b tonality where the composer had written an F#. For you Gb and F# is the same but not for me. On a tempered piano it is definitely the same!

  • @Bjoerrelli But all depends of the KEY SIGNATURE. Are the same note, but the diference is the key signature. Is not question of personal opinion. If you see the keyboard, F# and Gb (in this order) are the same note. Is the note BETHWEEN: F natural and G, them the black key between the white keys F and G. Not fot me, not for you, but FOR THE MUSIC AND FOR ALL THE MUSICIANS, F# = Gb. You are not musician?

  • @Gustavian Why do you think that six # means F# and six b´s means Gb? Why does the two exist if they are the same? For a violinplayer it´s not the same! The tempered klaver is an accommodation. An F# strives upward while a Gb lies still. Can you sing an F# on pitch? In singing their are no key buttons!

  • @Bjoerrelli Ok. You talk about acoustics. I understand that. But... singers learn the scores with piano. But in part, you are ok.

  • @Gustavian And the most importan: you are a fan of two great singers: Björling & Corelli. Good!

  • @Bjoerrelli And remember: the piano is ALLWAYS tempered, from the Bach era. Before that age, the piano not exist. The piano like today exist only after last decades of 1700.
