After seeing Grass-Stained Genes perform a cover of this at a concert this past weekend in Wellsboro, I checked youtube's many versions of this soulfull old song ... certainly, Johnny Cash, and the song's original writer, Merle Travis, do amazing versions, but I felt that Kathy's version had not only her beautiful strong voice, but just the right pacing.
Great video. This is one of my favorite songs, she did it well, my friends and I sang along. Nice to see this video to go along with a good fest '08 memory!
I agree with frommyshelfbookstore. This is in the top three with Johnny and Merle.
