Ok.. so mostly you hear tips for artists & producers trying to get in the game.. I want some info for managers on what routes to take to gain experience and learn the business from a behind the scenes or business point of view. Im a MBA student with a passionate love for hip hop. Help me out UrbanWallStreet!!!!!
my name is big woolf and im a label manager in arkansas and i thank you for the teaching and knowledge to help us grow in the industry. CLUBBIN MUSIC GROUP (CMG) LISTEN FOR US. Thanks again in advance for blowing us up
I'm a college student aspiring to work in the music industry in A&R or as a manager, and I wanted to know if you had any tips for a female who wants to be successful in the industry? (I heard it's mainly a "boys-business"). And also if you have any recommendations for good schools that offer music business majors?
@BrownyTexas Thanks for watching, and Im glad you found it beneficial. Check out part 2, This Business of Urban Music, and Entertainmemt Law: Mus Ind. 202
Some good advice. Check out on YOUTUBE: What Lies In Plain Sight. Watch it thoroughly and ask yourself if indeed you want to be a part of that. Is this really what you want for the previous young lives of our future?
Kid yourself not. But holding back information from the young, by not telling them that their bums play a major role (major ass et) is doing them a huge injustice. Why let them know the truth of all that is involved in the "business". You are only aiding in the destruction of their souls. Hope you can live with that by censoring the truth!!
Why are you so afraid? Deleted the truth of what the music industry is really all about? See YOUTUBE: What Lies In Plain Sight and stop censoring the truth!!
Afraid? Surely not. The purpose of this show is to educate in a postive manner. I'm sure there are many Other videos that will focus on the negative or gender preferences in the industry. That's not the purpose of the UWSP. The only truth I'm concerned with is that which will educate the aspiring artist on the "business" of the industry, not the behaviors that may lie therien.
Informative, but it seems that if an artist has to keep up with all the business end of the Music Industry, it would leave him mentally drained to "create" and do what he or she is already blessed with naturally to do. Even so, I realize you have to take care of yourself.
True...one would be drained...but as you said "you" have to take care of yourself. "You" are your "business" and you will rarely, if ever find someone who will work as hard for your dream as you. It takes a team to win a championship. Thus, surround yourself with a tight knit of good people, and go for what you know!
There's a great new way to get your music heard - go to the meermusic or famegamesradio site and sign up for ABC's Fame Games. It's now nationwide and worldwide and it's the first time EVER that indies get to be extensively featured on network radio. The implications of this to your career can be enormous - if your music has what it takes!
I am new to the youtube world but i knew about it for sometime, but i am writting to give props to the 101 team ight. This is JJ also repersentin (Defintion is really the reason) I'm more of a business man myself, hahah but my spelling could be better at
I will be adding Music Industry 101 pt. 2 within the next couple of weeks. Mr. Hubbard returns and continues sharing his insight, as well and introduces us to the emergence of "360 deals" aka "Big Red" deals. Stay tuned!
Yo this video was very intuitive and im digging the style that you doing. I am an up and comming artist manager and every little bit helps.. Keep doing your thing and let me know whats good with a new show, maybe you can do a new artist issue with them performing a few hits and doing an interview with them.. and so on.. hit me up if you have any Q's
i've been spitting before most of the names dropped and i believe you should write down your thoughts for future references, the wriiten records has shown to be the most important to any creative mind. i spit however i'm comfortable, i can write 300 pages in 2 hours much more prolific then any rappers as they don't even write anymore, just like reading , writing stimulates your mind, thats why u hear a down swing in lyrics from the begin of their careers, reading and writing is fundamental
I am so glad i found your channel. the information about the music business was a godsend for my 11 year old boy who wants to enter the music industry as a producer in the hip hop business. He took on board the advice and the insight about the music industry. keep doing your thing....I like the direction to which you are exploring and bringing topics from other segments to the forefront about the missing puzzle our community needs to know and be educated on. godbless from london
