Actually an EV is considered the most efficient means of transportation compared to an internal combustion engine setup, considering the work that has gone into this version of the Hummer series it show GM is getting with the program of designing the next generation vehicles.
I know there is a movement of people who prefer the internal combustion setup over an electric vehicle but in time it will prove that an EV can do more and will go further the any kind of internal combustion engine.
I disagree it should run quite well in fact I bet it will run as good as any internal combustion engine with the same setup as you've indicated or better.
You see a lot of development has finally been applied toward advancing electric based vehicles their much more powerful currently, you'd be surprised of some of the things that is being done now a days.
In my mind it's good to see GM and Raser are working on bringing back the EV configuration.
And they made a serious mistake with that model they actually let down their customer base in a bad way, but considering what they've done with the Hummer series I'm sure they'll be gain a lot of lost customers in the near future.
Uh, I had a 1997-3 cylinder Geo- Metro, 5pd........a great little commuter car. If I drove carefully I could get 60 mpg, and this is without many of the newer fuel saving technologies (variable valve timing, auto shutdown at stop, ultra lean burn mode, gas direct injection to name a few). I could see a little car like the Geo getting close to 100 mpg with some reworking of the systems. Problem is that little car would cost 20 grand, would it even sell? maybe if gas goes to 5 bucks a gallon.
Well they have no choice in the matter you see they have a dilemma of sorts you see there are over a million diy types who have been building EV for a good part of two decades and are using the vehicles they've built.
GM realizes they have to get with the program or else it's just the way it is.
They took the hint and now you see what they've done, Understand this vehicle is going to prove itself to be the best idea since the Impact EV they had out doing the 90's.

@tsport100 The Hummer brand vehicle is owned by a chinese outfit but all in all the plan is for the manufactoring of the truck to continue for the US, as I understand it as time goes on the Hummer will be mass produced as time goes on.
The EV Hummer is being offered to the customer base, from what I understand since the chinese can build Hummers at a lower cost eventually they will mass produce them to help bring the price down to enable more EV Hummer type sales to be offered in time.
That is the standard to do it, same approach done with an internal combustion engine, if you look at its logic it only makes sense, and again look at the demo road testing they've presented it's a stable configuration.
You'll find that most of the DIYers who convert gas to electric do the same only difference is that they use an adapter plate that is attached to the tranny.
Oh don't worry you'll eventually realize the Hummer will still be there for the US, and for the record you'll have two choices as well either an EV setup or with an Internal combustion engine and in time the price will go down.
That's all we want. A hummer that is environmentally friendly and easy on our pockets. When it is out I WILL buy one. Just hope MSRP isn't too high.

That's shows how GM is still running by idiots. Everybody would buy an Electric H3 if they just let Raser take care of it.

Who authored this video? How are Raser working with General Motors? GM just closed Hummer down!
This EV conversion is BS as they've bolted the AC motor on front of the standard automatic transmission, that's not how it's done!
