Poor guy hahaha, i've had the voice cracking think happen to me and it's a real ego killer lol, cudos for keeping it going and making a joke out of it Colin, besides, with those high notes we can't expect you to always hit them, they're up there dude
It's hard to believe the album was in such similar state so long ago. The lack of the loud rock music in what would become "A Bower Scene" was pretty funny to hear too.
wow alotta people find it hard to face the truth lol. but it matters to me imo. Truth is, when bands sign on to major labels, they get commercialized, then instead of writing GOOD music that they wrote before, they write stuff that the labels want them to. It's sad but true. There are countless examples of this in the music industry, which is why i sad "learn" before giving me a thumbs down. I'm not trying to annoy people, only educate them, but sometimes it's hard to do one without the other.
this is one of the best he's written yet, not to say everything else isn't awesome, this one just resonates with me even with the screw up, can't wait for the new album!
Oh man he didn't put the crazy metal pedal on for austin? He did last night in Brooklyn and it was so awesome. I can't wait for the real arrangement of this.
they have a series of vinyl that's either out or coming out soon, but you I'm pretty sure they have it also avqailable for DL. It's called "Always a Bridesmaid" And they are also working on another (non- vinyl) release I don't have to much info on it, but apparently they have alot of stuff done. Go to the Decemberists web site and look in the News section.

good thing the decemberists aren't one of those bands that are just wiriting what the label says, right?
Honestly. They wrote a pretentious, lengthy rock opera [which is amazing]. There is a truth to what you said about commercializing music, though
