@YenkoSuperChevy If you're hungry and need the meat, hunt any way you want. Although I do hunt with a dog and never road hunt. But shooting them on the wing only is a sport hunter's way of hunting, which is bullshit.

@DoinThupidThings Dahmer started out hunting grouse in rural Canada? Not everyone likes their meat wrapped under plastic from a factory farm, you know.
@zeppelinesque No, he started off snapping the necks for birds and didn't think anything of it. I mean that kid is pretty young to be that savage. Just saying. And there's nothing wrong with grouse hunting, I do it myself-but I wouldn't shoot a grouse that's stationary.
Right on...stereo-typical red-necks from Alberta...bet the kid felt like a man after that!!! slaughtered some half tame ruffed grouse...u done good boy...now go home and eat your frosted-poptarts.
@megajayy1 Young men used to ALL have to do this kind of activity...the shame is that they don't do enough of it anymore. Leave your fat, stupid kid in front of the Xbox with his bowl of Cheetos. We'll teach ours to hunt and enjoy the wild.
You eat by either buy food or gather food (hunting).None was present in this video, shooting 5 times on the side of the road to 2 birds is destroying the meat on them (and don even say he failed the first shoots because that makes it worse, any wild bird would flush with the first shoot, only aviary birds wouldn't).
Also the way the kid behaves is not the way an hunter should behave, almost looks like a gang video made to intimidate rival gangs.
What the... that is not hunting. Grouses don't fly away when vehicles approach them. In Norway, we walk for hours, tracking them down, and when they see us, they fly like crazy. This is depending on season, yes, but as i see it, this is not hunting at all, this is some sort of coward execution....
You are a poacher if you: Hunt or fish out of season Hunt without a license Road hunt Night hunt Hunt on private land without permission Exceed bag limits Sell wildlife or fish illegally Hunt in manners hazardous to the public: while intoxicated, too close to occupied buildings or shoot off main highway Use aircraft to spot game and hun Use illegal hunting / fishing devices or baits
@999999999poop obviously you havent read the regulations, under general regulations it perfectly states 3 things maybe even 4 that was illegal, do not discharge a weapon from any kind of aircraft or vehicle whether it is moving or stationary. of illegal age, road side killing, and im sure its illegal however not stated to give what looks to me like a 10 year old a gun wether supervised or not
@TheFrostman100 i forgot to mention if you need link to regulations id be more then happy to show it to you. might change your mind before you call any others meat head.
@gunsguitarsandgirls the laws where you are are different than where we are! Read alberta and BC regs No orange required, and shotguns are not required

dude this is such a good video i live in Edmonton but i go up to my moms boyfriends cabin all the time hunting grouse and deer......... what gun did u use to shoot those birds
anybody else collect the tali fans of the grouse they shoot??? sharptails dont have much & spruce grouse are all the same but ruffed grouse are all damn near a lil differnt at least up in north mn... depending on its age/area you hunt you can get many differnt tail colors i am a hardcore turkey hunter & keep all the tail fans so i do the same with grouse many in my camp dont keep the tails? am i alone or dose anybody else keep em??? my fav is the true gray phase! or a true all deep red phase
i personaly hunt grouse with a 410. guage shotgun and all i have to say is what a load of bull shit i always scare em up (or i get my dog to for me) then shoot em in mid flight. and i also would never hunt out of a truck i use a quad sometimes when it is below 20 degrees celcius. but a truck is a fricking joke. and i would also only take 2 shots for 2 grouse with my over under mossberg silver reserve 410. guage
The way I hunt is similar to the chaps in this video, but instead of ROADHUNTING, I am in the bush, walking slowly and quietly so I can see the bird before it flushes. I hunt without a dog... I've seen blokes with 22's before and can see what you're saying, I imagine it would be great fun to hunt biddies with a rimfire...
You might want to be sure of what you're saying before you say it, I hunt ruffies with a twelve gauge and the meat is fine unless I slip up and shoot the body. I just need to ensure that the shot hits the bird in the head or upper neck. full choke
fuck u man ur gay i truck hunt all the time and it way better than walking through the forest like a fagget with no clues were the fuck one is so fuck you cunt face
I have shot many Ruffies over the years up near Bonnyville, St Paul, Whitecourt, Athabasca. Fun to shoot. Usually they dont fly, so you have to shoot on the ground from about 20 yards. You dont get every one you see either. They are hard to spot and alot of the time run once you get out of the vehicle. Sharp Tails and Hungarians are even harder, as they are fast! Looks like you had a good day.
awesome video, when i was 11 i went out hunting out of the car all the time, especially in the morning when the sun comes out. and dude, btw, thats quite a few shots for like that many birds.. but nice grouse!
i have hunted these birds all my life and there is nothing wrong with shooting them on the ground. And as far as the truck goes, you cant be in contact with a motor vehicle when you shoot anyway, so that's illegal. See the bird, step out, and shoot it. If it flies, shoot in on the wing. Either way is completely fine. There is nothing unethical about having a great day out in the woods with your boy, and I think this is a great video.
@999999999poop many many people threwout ruffed/spruce grouse even sharptail grouse habitat & wear they all coinside call them partridge espeaciely in the northern usa & manitoba/ontario??? im surprized u a canuck dosent know that? im all for get n kids in the outdoors but there is a good/bad way of doing it id have to say? try to get them to pound the trails/woods the traditional way till they can drive themselfs around other wise we have tons of roadhunters/half ass hunters its sad...
this is a frikin joke and why so many people have ruined the true sport of partridge huntin. i am a dedicated partridge hunter and this makes me cringe to know that this footage shows up here.
you are making a disgrace out of the sport of ground swatting. that is not hunting at all, and especially right out of a truck. thats a joke. i sure hope that young kid doesn't ever apply this in his future like so many before. you should be ashamed. grow up, and shoot them on the wing like a real hunter
wtf r u talking about? u must be a complete tool to say shit like that. First off, they aint partridges and i am the one who shot those birds at least 5 yrs ago for a school project. you need to open ur eyes a bit and think before u randomly comment on other ppls videos. Shooting birds on the wing isnt any harder than hitting them on the ground with a .22 anyways, and if that footage makes u cringe u must be a big pussy.
Hunting from a truck is gay... so is hunting from an ATV. Get out and walk you lazy bums! Shooting them on the ground is not bad if it was tough to spot them, but spotting them on a road is not hard at all.
You are wasting the legs cleaning them like that! The legs are the best part! A little bit more work, but its worth it. I clean snow geese like that, but only cuz we have like 40 or so to clean.
FYI...partridge are grouse... dumbass... and shooting them on the fly is considerably harder.
Im glad you dont write the Regulations on hunting. How do you get to your hunting spot? Do you walk from your house? Shooting grouse on the ground is safe and easy. I guess your the only one who passes up game unless its challenging to kill. give me break. You have alot to learn 20 year old kid.
I drive, but I don't shoot the grouse I see along the way... thats not hunting. If you are as safe with a gun as I am, you wouldn't worry about it, and it being easy is my point... it is too easy.
I do have a lot to learn, I'll give ya that... but I wouldn't want to learn anything from someone like you.
@hAg3475 partridges are NOT grouse, what is wrong with you dumb ass yankees. And Elk are deer right. Same family, not the same F$%$%#^ animal. EDUCATION, use it. Stop sounding like an ignorant american, up isn't down just because you say it is.
@999999999poop dont be mad man the guy is just a pureist partridge hunter
that is a jerk! its like that with fly fishing for trout the fly fisher men dont like the rod & reel spin cast spiner fisherman & say thats not really trout fishing? with turkey its the hole did u call or crawl to get the turkey... with deer did u do a deer drive & kill a deer in blue jeans & street clothes or did u still hunt/call a deer up & take him with out him know u were there everybody has something to say???
@turdeson a man you/i know that there will allways be the road/atv hunting crowd be it for deer/grouse they want to make it as eazy as they can??? id say dont be afraid to work a lil bit for they game u take? in the areas i hunt in northern mn near the canadian border u cant see to many partridge spruce/ruffed off the road even on a up yr becouse of the road hunters u have to get in the woods or on grown over atv trails aka the road less taken but its ok to tree pound a grouse sometimes man???
@turdeson yeah pretty big difference between grouse and partridges, and to even get these birds to fly would take a hell of a lot of time and even then they are only in the air for about 3-5 seconds. You are the one that needs to Grow up and stop ruining what appeared to be a great father son day out.
@videokenner i grew up with dad and grandpa that only did grouse hunting their whole life. in N MN, there is an old tradition, and calling them partridge is one of them. being a wildlife guru, i know the difference. growing up with tradition, i started huntin with a shotgun at the age of 10 and tagged along with a bb gun since the age of 4. i know what great days out in the woods are cause i had more than my fair share. i did my ground swattin the first year, then figured out how pointless it is
good bird and good bird hunt btw you can shoot on old logging trails no law prohibits it only 1st,secondary roads .logging trails and privet thru fairs thru brush are open to what ever ya want to do.

anybody else collect the tali fans of the grouse they shoot??? sharptails dont have much & spruce grouse are all the same but ruffed grouse are all damn near a lil differnt at least up in north mn... depending on its age/area you hunt you can get many differnt tail colors i am a hardcore turkey hunter & keep all the tail fans so i do the same with grouse many in my camp dont keep the tails? am i alone or dose anybody else keep em??? my fav is the true gray phase! or a true all deep red phase

duuude you threw you the legs?
ethantup456 1 year ago
i personaly hunt grouse with a 410. guage shotgun and all i have to say is what a load of bull shit i always scare em up (or i get my dog to for me) then shoot em in mid flight. and i also would never hunt out of a truck i use a quad sometimes when it is below 20 degrees celcius. but a truck is a fricking joke. and i would also only take 2 shots for 2 grouse with my over under mossberg silver reserve 410. guage

The way I hunt is similar to the chaps in this video, but instead of ROADHUNTING, I am in the bush, walking slowly and quietly so I can see the bird before it flushes. I hunt without a dog... I've seen blokes with 22's before and can see what you're saying, I imagine it would be great fun to hunt biddies with a rimfire...

lexmark136
You might want to be sure of what you're saying before you say it, I hunt ruffies with a twelve gauge and the meat is fine unless I slip up and shoot the body. I just need to ensure that the shot hits the bird in the head or upper neck. full choke
LukasCameronMitchell 2 years ago
@LukasCameronMitchell full choke??? improved or improved mod
for grouse full choke is for far out shots & waterfowl??? & turkey hunting if your cheap & dont want to get a turkey choke

if u screw up with a 22 ur basicly just making somoneels get green meat thats why u use a 12gauge or a .410
kevinmarchand35 2 years ago
woow why the fuck would u go from .410 to 12 gauge what about the 16 twenty, 20and 28 u probly dont know ur guns so dont even comment
diedclassified 2 years ago
@kevinmarchand35 you dumbass, a 12 guage would tear that meat up, a .22 does the job if you know how to shoot, you obviously don't.

878ovechkin 2 years ago
I have shot many Ruffies over the years up near Bonnyville, St Paul, Whitecourt, Athabasca. Fun to shoot. Usually they dont fly, so you have to shoot on the ground from about 20 yards. You dont get every one you see either. They are hard to spot and alot of the time run once you get out of the vehicle. Sharp Tails and Hungarians are even harder, as they are fast! Looks like you had a good day.
Nice to see.
pmccall1 2 years ago
I didn't like this video! Just kidding lol! Looks like you guys had fun!
chazfensk 2 years ago
awesome video, when i was 11 i went out hunting out of the car all the time, especially in the morning when the sun comes out. and dude, btw, thats quite a few shots for like that many birds.. but nice grouse!
haydenpker 2 years ago
i have hunted these birds all my life and there is nothing wrong with shooting them on the ground.

@999999999poop many many people threwout ruffed/spruce grouse even sharptail grouse habitat & wear they all coinside call them partridge espeaciely in the northern usa & manitoba/ontario??? im surprized u a canuck dosent know that? im all for get n kids in the outdoors but there is a good/bad way of doing it id have to say? try to get them to pound the trails/woods the traditional way till they can drive themselfs around other wise we have tons of roadhunters/half ass hunters its sad...

this is a frikin joke and why so many people have ruined the true sport of partridge huntin. i am a dedicated partridge hunter and this makes me cringe to know that this footage shows up here.
you are making a disgrace out of the sport of ground swatting. that is not hunting at all, and especially right out of a truck. thats a joke. i sure hope that young kid doesn't ever apply this in his future like so many before. you should be ashamed. grow up, and shoot them on the wing like a real hunter
turdeson 3 years ago
wtf r u talking about? u must be a complete tool to say shit like that.
999999999poop 2 years ago
Hunting from a truck is gay... so is hunting from an ATV. Get out and walk you lazy bums! Shooting them on the ground is not bad if it was tough to spot them, but spotting them on a road is not hard at all.
You are wasting the legs cleaning them like that! The legs are the best part! A little bit more work, but its worth it. I clean snow geese like that, but only cuz we have like 40 or so to clean.
FYI...partridge are grouse... dumbass... and shooting them on the fly is considerably harder.
hAg3475 2 years ago
Im glad you dont write the Regulations on hunting. How do you get to your hunting spot? Do you walk from your house? Shooting grouse on the ground is safe and easy. I guess your the only one who passes up game unless its challenging to kill. give me break. You have alot to learn 20 year old kid.

hAg3475 2 years ago
I drive, but I don't shoot the grouse I see along the way... thats not hunting. If you are as safe with a gun as I am, you wouldn't worry about it, and it being easy is my point... it is too easy.
I do have a lot to learn, I'll give ya that... but I wouldn't want to learn anything from someone like you.
hAg3475 2 years ago
And FYI... it is against regulations to hunt within 100 ft of a motorized vehicle.
hAg3475 2 years ago
You live in the states. this video is Alberta. we have different regulations FYI. nice try though.
BigDumbJerk 2 years ago
@hAg3475 partridges are NOT grouse, what is wrong with you dumb ass yankees. And Elk are deer right. Same family, not the same F$%$%#^ animal. EDUCATION, use it. Stop sounding like an ignorant american, up isn't down just because you say it is.
videokenner 1 year ago
@999999999poop dont be mad man the guy is just a pureist partridge hunter
that is a jerk! its like that with fly fishing for trout the fly fisher men dont like the rod & reel spin cast spiner fisherman & say thats not really trout fishing? with turkey its the hole did u call or crawl to get the turkey... with deer did u do a deer drive & kill a deer in blue jeans & street clothes or did u still hunt/call a deer up & take him with out him know u were there everybody has something to say???
brownrider56 1 year ago
@turdeson a man you/i know that there will allways be the road/atv hunting crowd be it for deer/grouse they want to make it as eazy as they can??? id say dont be afraid to work a lil bit for they game u take? in the areas i hunt in northern mn near the canadian border u cant see to many partridge spruce/ruffed off the road even on a up yr becouse of the road hunters u have to get in the woods or on grown over atv trails aka the road less taken but its ok to tree pound a grouse sometimes man???
brownrider56 1 year ago
@turdeson yeah pretty big difference between grouse and partridges, and to even get these birds to fly would take a hell of a lot of time and even then they are only in the air for about 3-5 seconds. You are the one that needs to Grow up and stop ruining what appeared to be a great father son day out.
videokenner 1 year ago
@videokenner i grew up with dad and grandpa that only did grouse hunting their whole life. in N MN, there is an old tradition, and calling them partridge is one of them. being a wildlife guru, i know the difference. growing up with tradition, i started huntin with a shotgun at the age of 10 and tagged along with a bb gun since the age of 4. i know what great days out in the woods are cause i had more than my fair share. i did my ground swattin the first year, then figured out how pointless it is
