  • how do i get sleep to work?????

  • i try installing iatkos s3 v2 on my acer apsire one d255e but when i boot off the cd it keeps booting into windows. i changed ide to ahci and set cd rom as boot priority but it wont work. Help??

  • @AndywithAndy21 Doesw the DVD boot on another computer? Are you sure that the CD in boot priority refers to the one you plugged in via USB? Did you try using a separate boot loader (like NBI - provided on site) and having it then boot into the CD for you?

  • could u also make a video o how u made a bootable usb please, i have followed the article and it doesnt work.. i have used a 16gb usb aswel

  • @vpatel120 Sure, but did you try adjusting your BIOS settings to boot off the USB as if it were a hard drive? If you use the USB boot in the boot priority menu it won't always work, your best bet is to look at the hard drive boot priority which is where you will find the USB detected as a hard drive.

  • @CSIYFvideos i will try that ..but when i install the snow leapord it installs but when the laptop reboots and try to boot into the mac partition the laptop just restarts??

  • @vpatel120 Well yeah, a PC can't recognize the Mac OS X boot loader and thus it restarts or just displays a black screen saying that no operating system was found. This is why you need to boot into it with a boot loader from a USB, CD or install a boot loader later on. The boot loader that you are using will recognize and understand Mac OS X but the built-in one won't.

  • @CSIYFvideos could u recommend me a boot loader because i have been using iboot and it is still the same thing the laptop reboot..(i have tried the usb 1 but i cant get it booting up)

  • @vpatel120 iBoot should work. You can try NBI, the download link is in the beginning of h series and if it yields the same result, try adjusting some BIOS settings and reinstalling OS X.

  • @CSIYFvideos when my usb is pluged in and run the iboot cd the cd doesnt run i keep on getting an error? and for the BIOS setting I alrdy changed it to ACHI

  • @CSIYFvideos oh and ive installed it like 3 times and im getting the same error.

  • how do you get sleep to work on d150???

  • @mirbramo94 Try sleep enabler or find the specific kext that permits sleep on your model. You may need to do all that after you're installed. Note that if you install Sleep Enabler before you update, you will run into problems. If you want to update, update first, then add sleep enabler, makes your life easier.

  • Will this work on an acer aspire one D257

  • @RandomnessProducts There is a good chance that it will, the Mac OS X installation is pretty much the same regardless the system (just like Windows and Linux distros), the only thing, so far, that I have seen vary from model to model (from the feedback that I have been getting) in the aspire one is the wi-fi.

  • Thanks bro! Worked

  • hey, why when i booted from my boot loader, the mac os x screen directly stop and restart my computer... and it is the same when it tried to burn it? what is the problem here? should i redownload the iatkos? thnx

  • @deochndr Did you change the bios settings before? I recommend you also refer to the text guide. If the boot loader in iAtkos fails, you can always make a boot loader disk with a different boot loader and then just boot off the DVD from it and it will go straight to the installation.

  • and what if i use the iatkos DVD installation method? will i need the other boot loader? and should i always put my DVD in my DVD-rom to boot my mac? thnx b4

  • @deochndr Same applies, only difference is that with the USB method you need an extra boot loader because the one with iAtkos won't work and if you use the DVD method, it will auto-boot and everything, but every time you enter the disk it will go to the install so to get to Chameleon (the boot loader) you have to hit F8 and choose the Mac OS X partition until you install a boot loader.

  • thank you for answering my question... but i still have one... what you mean by installing the boot loader? and how to do it? please help me, because i want to try this soon... and if you don't mind please make the tutorial about the boot loader please.

  • @deochndr No problem, it was actually in cue if you look at my written and detailed guide... I must have run out of time with my work or It must be in the Mac partition some where lol Everything you need is here, this is general, there is a link for Acer aspire One if that's your specific model.

  • so every time i want to boot my mac, should i use my usb or just remove it?

  • @deochndr Until you install a boot loader (preferably after you update), you will need the USB that contains the boot loader.

  • ok im really new at this is there any way we can PM and you help me please? becuase i dont know how to do alot, im new at this. i dont know how to partition the usb

  • @nayamoss7110 There is Google + and Facebook

Facebook: facebook .com/csiyf - The wall is open for you to post pictures and questions.

Google+: plus.google .com/u/0/110564143530113477448/posts - on the left of my profile you will see send me a message, click on that, write what you want to write and add any screenshots and I will respond.

Considering how there might be others who will have problems formatting, I will make a video on it soon.

  • thank you so much, is it possible to do this with only 1 usb

  • @nayamoss7110 You can try partitioning the USB prior to making it and then mark the partition with the boot loader (relatively small) as active. You can mimic some steps here for the active part: bit. ly / vnTIXS

Otherwise, you will need a system running Mac, follow Mac instructions, download Chameloen or Chimera and install to the USB

  • ok so how do i even get mac onto a usb. this looks like a great video. but are there any links to how to get mac os and how to put it on a usb?

  • @nayamoss7110 I'm pretty sure that one of the links in the description will take you to an article in the series that does that, but I have a newer series which is clearer so here is the link that you are looking for.

I used a USB for my installations.

  • @andywithandy If you are refering to download bits, it is irrelevant where you get and download them from. I just make it easier on people by assuming that the Acer Aspire One is the only computer that they have.

If you are referring to installing Mac OS X to another computer, here is my more general guide.

  • I found the downloads, thanks :)

Is it possible to put mac os x on my laptop (Toshiba c650-196) core i3, ddr3 ram ?

  • @sim6699 IAtkos is a general distro of Mac so when you get to the customize section, you would need to use the settings that go with your Toshiba based on its hardware and whatever other kexts that don't work would need to be found. I use kexts.com - note that to download from there you need to make an account with them. For updated methods, check out my website - I am trying a different method with the same disc and the results are better. Feel free to let me know how your install went. Thanks

  • hi, I was following the steps but a pop up message came saying "error loading operating system" What I should do? I have the same netbook but with w7 starter, due to many attempts of updating the netbook I decided to reset the netbook to factory settings, unexpectedly it couldn't handle the recovery setup and then I was unable to start w7 again, so I want to switch to this stable mac os

    Thanks

  • @metalslugmasters It may be an error with the install media. Try remaking the installer USB and at last resort try seeing if it could have been that iAtkos didn't download properly. Also make sure that your bios IDE setting is in AHCI mode.

  • @metalslugmasters And if you haven't already, read the series on my site from step 1 onward as it goes into more detail.

  • Where do you get snow leopard designed for acer aspire one?

  • @sim6699 To my knowledge, there isn't a Snow Leopard that is tailored specifically for the Aspire One, unfortunately, but if you use iAtkos s3 v2, the link is included in the blog post that is linked to the video - you will need a program called uTorrent as well, and follow my instructions as I make them to get everything to work, then you should be good to go. Let me know of your progress. Good luck

  • @CSIYFvideos I bought a Hp mini 210 :-)

  • @sim6699 That will certainly make things easier. I'm pretty sure that the exact method I used can easily be applied to the HP mini. Have you had luck with it thus far?
