@eggplantrufus - how condescending can you be??? These are adults. They can make their own decisions about being part of this group that has been together for 30 years! Nobody is holding a gun to them, making them rehearse and perform. They don't need you or anybody else making decisions about their lives for them. I am sure they get quite enough of that. Have a little respect. They are obviously having a blast and a half.
Just spent a summer working with my 83-year old mother as she went through the process of dying from terminal cancer and honestly, I see nothing on these videos, as cute as they are... other than creepy young people using old and dying folks for their own benefit and playing it out on the public market so we can laugh at them or be fascinated by them as we see fit. Oh... don't give the notion that this was somehow some raucous good-time send-off for our elderly. BS.
(Very inspiring as is the elder line dancers the average age 70 to 80) in "white trash trailer mama" on you tube the girls in this video really rip up the dance floor, reminding us we're only getting younger.

I watched the Independent Lens documentary last night, and I swear, IT WAS A RIOT! Funny, poignant, sweet, sad, hilarious--just pick a feeling. What a delightful film. I hope I'm still that feisty when I hit my 70's!!

I watched it while lying in a hospital bed and I nearly laughed my ass of, staring with my mouth open watching these guys doing what they like best in life. I'd like to be like that when I am old. I cried during the film too. Seeing the prisoners cry was very touching. The documentary film is really amazing and I beg you to watch it. There's a lot of stuff to learn about the right way of being old and coping with illness and death.
