It's called a cover for a reason, it doesn't mean it has to be exactly the same. The point of a cover sometimes is to make it your own, which is what he did! :) People who can do that in my opinion are more talented than those who just sing it exactly the same.

Heya thanks, I have a guitar for the mic and one for the voice. You can barely see the guitar mic in the middle of the screen to my right.

I just recorded the sound into a mixer that fed into a sound card then finally into cool edit pro and I just sync'd the sound file into adobe premiere vid lol.

I'm using condenser mics for vocal and guitar, the vocal one is a Behringer B2, yeah it's something you just gotta jump in and test the waters. I'm no sound engineer so I'm still figuring out how it works :)
