I love the 747-400, just an awesome plane, especially with all the modern avionics and displays. And I've seen pix of the passenger amenities that some airlines have on the 744's.Especially the first class cabin areas. And of course United has Pratt and Whitney PW4062 engines on their 747-400's

slow downnn.....i have the utmost respect for pilots and think they are incredible people...i do know about the rigours of flying...i know roughly how 747s are flown in the real world from startup to programming to checks to every command that is performed.the fact of the matter is that computers are 'capable' of handling the whole flight regardless of whether one favours this or not.also u really strike me as a pilot...calm in adversity etc..lol

Get a clue, brad. The flight crew enters the data and they have to be able to make corrections as needed. If a 'computer does it all' why do pilots go through years of flight training and stringent certification processes

to do their job? Obviously when you watch these videos you don't look or listen closely.

i like A380 cockpit, got a digital keyboard for control, a big extra LCD panal for global GPS/forcasting display, and way more room! I read that the new A380 engines are twise as quite as the GE or PW engines on the 747

Airbuses are elegant. But B777 cockpits are so much more impressive than A345 or A346. Better lighting, looks more advanced, and much more comfy. Especially the B777-300ER wth Jepp flight bag on the special side screens. Airbus is too squared and gray. But I love both anyways.

Sorry, as much as I think the A380 is an accomplishment for Airbus, I think the 747-400 is nicer-looking, inside and out. And the A380 is gonna have more serious competition once the 747-8 goes into production, with Lufthansa as the launch customer.

Well, the 744ER and some refitted 744s have LCD screens, and digital MCPs. Just a clarification.

However, this flight deck is definately a 744; uses CRTs, and is either a PW or RB211 engined 744. SQ, QFA, CPA, CLX, MAS, the list goes on.

747-400 FO for Philippine Airlines here. Yes it is a 747-400 and that flightdeck has CRT not LCD. 777 have LCD displays and the FMC text are colored not green. LOL.

Boeing747spec, since you are a pilot of 777´s you could not only tell it´s not a 777 but you should explain...(if you can) Thing is, you can see a last generation cockpit on this video and also the 4 engine trusts. So you can easily conclude it´s a 747-400
