When buying a tuxedo the expensive bits are the pants, the jacket and the shoes. The rest is relatively inexpensive. I would advice to get the bowtie, the cummerband, the shirt, the bracers and a set of cufflinks (and studs, if needed). Perhaps spread this out, make it a little reward for yourself. Every men should have some good dress-shoes anyway. That leaves only the pants and jacket to rent/buy when a special occasion calls for it.

But, why didnt you wear a suit in this video...

As to why I didn't wear a tux - it has to do with only have 1.5 hour to film 5 videos yesterday and then spending time with a sick daughter all night (she's better!). Hopefully in 2012 I can make this video production stuff a bigger part of my business and allocate more time and resources - for now it's just for fun!
