iphone gave us the simplest of design and UI ... and they never changed the screen size (well they never had to) ... unlike the windows phones ..... everytime i got a new phone with windows OS i would be "FUK!!!!!!!! i got to search the apps for this phone again" coz even though they had the same os the fukin screen size didnt match .... although right now most of the new windows phone have the same pixels but they still have a long way to go.... they look gr8 but... needs more apps

@djpuente oh im just saying wp7 is shit and 2.2 on the hd2 is better. i put 2.1 on my hd2 a while back and didnt like it but now that i have 2.2 that works perfectly and super ridiculously smooth and i dont think ms is going in the right direction with apps. i just hate the way winmo is setup and i absolutely hate the ui of wp7. its just not appealing to me. i dont like how plain jane it is. id rather have all the custom features of froyo than all the non existent features of winmo or wp7.

HD2 is an awesome phone, speed and screen are great, however there is no doubt that wm6.5 is a piece of crap OS. I have been using android 2.2 froyo on it and it works flawlesly and makes the hd2 shine in all aspects. I am looking forward on the day that I can remove wm6.5 completely and replace it with the desire hd rom.

It was windows that made the hd look bad, not HTC.

It's so slooooow. I don't know how they do it, but microsoft always finds the way to make computers (and in this case PDAs) much slower once you install the new OS. I have an HD2 running WinMo 6.5 and it's going to stay that way.

@mantheman100 Tough choice.. but you gotta find that out on your own. I chose the HD2, because of great hardware and because I don't really like android. Android with sense has either 7 or 5 homescreens to swype between, don't like that. I am more of a windows mobile person. But if you are really liking android maybe better would be to choose the evo 4g ;P

1) I have a 2 GB storage card in my phone, I just drag and drop music onto the root of the card and can listen to it. Just make sure you've got some good quality headphones, because the ones you get with the device don't have a lot of base in 'em. Only with the standard headhpones you can use onboard controls, which is handy.

2) The screen on the hd2 is great.. really bought it for the large screen. Quality is good too and very responsive. Very nice to watch HD YT movies on it

@SuperFlyBonsai It's not smooth because this is an HTC HD2 running a pre-release version of WP7S ROM, hacked onto the device by Russian programmers. Microsoft has specifically said the phone won't be upgradable to WP7S, and the early beta ROM that it's running isn't optimized for the HD2 (read: no hardware graphics acceleration).

It's a wonder they managed to get it running on that phone at all. On actual WP7S h/w, it's silky smooth and faster than Zune HD.

I think the reason why Microsoft aren't too bothered about the HD2 was because the HTC Evo that's just been revealed will be the HD2's successor (and a DAMN worthy one at that!). The Evo or possibly something with even more impressive specs should be out by the holiday season, which is when the 7 Series drops.

@iamhonestjohn I agree! Just got my hands on the HD2, and I liked it. However, without proper GPU support in WP7s yet, it´s slow and laggy.. The "EVO" looks amazing, and will for sure be my main handset when it launches. Now, if someone could just get a phone to dualboot Android and W7Ps, Im sold on both devices. Always good to have one for tinkering, and one for business ;)
