That's Capcom fighting game players for you. Tekken, BlazBlue, KoF means you have to play and gain skill. Unfortunatley NetherRealm followed Capcom and started with nerfs. Whatever Capcom game you play, people won't learn and will claim characters as being top tier. It's why older Capcom games like 3s has a better community.

@mariotaz No, in UMVC3 there are spam type moves and the masters of that are Dr.Doom and Arthur, even so they do not have to press "circle" to spam all of their moves that's my point and if they spam something a single proyectile will never take 1/4 of health bar such as the hits of Hakumen or the grabs of Iron Tager.
Hakumen and Iron Tager are cheap, but that doesn't compare to an entire cast of BS with noobfactor and easy combos that anyone can do with little effort. Spamming in MvC3 will get you far.... top 8 Evo far
@mariotaz You are generalizing too much, not all characters in Marvel have easy combos, and the ones that does are because they are "like that" just like Iron tager in BB, they are heavy characters and they are made like that. For example, Sentinel, Nemesis and Hulk are very easy to use and their cheapest combos packs a punch but even so you could not make it to evo top 8 with those characters, what about Dante? He's not very hard to use but his combos are crazy without relying on xfactor
I've played Marvel a lot and disliked how disspointing it was. Every character can be summarised as
c.L, c.M, c.H, S (s.j), M, M, H, S, Super/OTG,Super.
As for the Evo comment, surely you watched Evo '11 in which the consisted of Mike Ross and Noah mashing H with Hulk, while others used Sentinel (and Dark Phoenix), combined with the sheer turd that is Xfactor.
I also do understand how intricate Dantes combos are as I have combo videos of my own with him, but why bother?

And that's why I bring up Dante cause even though he's kinda easy to use the creativity to pull off some amazing combos depends on how good you use it, and not every Dante player does the same combo as some other chars would. And Evo 11 depended so much on the XFACTOR Dark Phoenix I know but that has been removed as several other things...Sentinel nowadays is not even its shadow, DP and so on.
I mean, why bother to go through all that effort when you can use that basic combo and do more damage. I know how stylish you can be with Dante but he gets damage scaled a lot. So it's not really worth doing all of that.

In KoF or SSF4 spaming proyectiles doesn't pay off like it does in Mvc3 that's why they are completely different games and Im not saying those who spam in Mvc3 win a battle everyday but that's the mechanic, if you wanna kill someone without touching you, then use a combo master like dante.
@mariotaz you for get that Hulk has like 2 easily exploitable weaknesses 1. All of his attacks are easily punished by either block or whiff (especially standing H) and 2. Zoning he's a big slow green target with no real dash/wave dash and no way to get in. If you wanna talk easy try Ghost Rider with jump S. now that = Evo easy.
I don't use even use Wesker and I don't think he needs to be nerfed. The only reason this guy got perfected is because he uses Phoenix Wright and because he failed to block everything. The person that needs to be nerfed is Doom. All of your doom comebacks are demotivational because I have actually lost entire teams to X factor Doom. They need to nerf Doom, not Wesker.

If Wesker and Doom were so good, then every tournament player should be using them which isnt the case. Justin Wong won Socal regionals using Iron Fist, Wolverine, and Akuma. Never blame the character, only the player for not knowing the match ups and how to play them.
@TheThinkingHour That assist its like the reason I want to use strider (also his oroborous) cause I use ghost rider to zone out people, and it worked pretty nicely, and often they try to super jump to get in, thats when I think strider's assist would do nicely.

I think that all Wesker needs is to get rid of his sunglasses buff, since it allows him to achieve something like Level 4 X-Factor with his shades off, which is just ridiculous. Get rid of that, and you'll have something to make people pick other things BESIDES Wesker.
im going to go out of the limb and say 50 percent of my losses are from people who keep wesker as an anchor for lvl 4 x-factor and 85percent of teams i face online have wesker on their team....People are getting really uncreative with team choices
wesker is my favorite character in the game. Hes cocky, hes powerful, and his theme is one of the best. Id likely still play him even if they nerfed him as hard as wolverine.

@KingCrimeTime Its not the fact that the guy was lagging its the fact that the mixups Max was doing with Wesker were confusing the guy and he didn't know which way to block. The mixup he gets on Iron Man is that he calls the Strider assist and had Wesker dash under Iron Man, which cause the guy to block the wrong way.
@FalconDragon2000 I did some research after that assist me.came out. The pick up does work on iron man, but not anywhere like most players. It's only works on iron man and Jill in the corner which is clearly seen at 38. It also works anywhere on the screen with at least lvl 2 XF.
He /was/ nerfed. But you can't change the way he plays. Infinity divided by two is still infinity.
Not to say he's the best character, because the best characters are well-played Vergils or Shuma-Goraths. And if you think they are shit, then you haven't fought anyone who actually knows how to use them.
When Hulk and Sentinel stop doing 800k+ damage in a simple bread & butter combo, then Wesker can be nerfed below godly.
But they won't. Because that's how they're meant to be.
The fact of the matter is, both MvC3 and UMvC3 are broken beyond comprehension. Capcom is literally doing everything they can to fix it, but it can't be fixed. Because when you have characters that are loved by all you can't fuck them up or you'll lose your fans.
That means some will be completely useless (like MODOK), some will be at a major disadvantage until mastered (like Zero), some forever loved and made the same way (the vets), and some hated and pointless (like MODOK).

And why are they all like that? Because that's just how those characters are. Zero is amazing but harder to use than most and requires mastery and discipline (same for Strider, really). All the veterans to the MvC series remain the same because they worked. And some (like Wesker, Sentinel, and Hulk) are just naturally overpowered so they have to be overpowered in this game otherwise it's like calling Tofurky a real Turkey.

People complain about a character being broken but they just need to stop sucking and learn the matchup. I personally dont think Wesker is outrageously broken but he does have somewhat of a advantage over most characters. A good fighting game isnt a balanced one. If they do nerf Wesker to the point where the shittiest of characters can rape him, then the game isnt even worth playing anymore.
@TheRasenhameha Nova and Zero are fine!, Zero actually had to be nerfed just to put him on a similar combat-level as everyone else, Zero would have more supers and hyper combos as well as having the best dash and having more power, health and combo-fiendism than most other characters. And just all around bad-ass!
@TwilightEX12 If you were paying attention, you'd notice that he did "do something". The first Wesker combo landed on Wright was because Wesker's normal beat Wright's to the punch. The second was because he didn't expect Strider. Third was from Wesker crossing him up when Iron Man came out. Fourth was from Strider assist again. Fifth was from Wesker's teleport cross up+Doom assist. Nemesis did his best to hit Wesker, but his normals beat him out.
I love how at 1:00 it looks like the video censored Wesker taking of his sunglasses, to make it really seem like he was raping the other team.

@mariotaz Which it is not too far away from MVC3, besides remember in MVC3 there are different types of characters, the one who rely purely on combo, those who spam proyectiles and the stallers... In KoF or SSF4 spaming proyectiles doesn't pay off like it does in Mvc3 that's why they are completely different games and Im not saying those who spam in Mvc3 win a battle everyday but that's the mechanic, if you wanna kill someone without touching you, then use a combo master like dante.

@mariotaz you for get that Hulk has like 2 easily exploitable weaknesses 1. All of his attacks are easily punished by either block or whiff (especially standing H) and 2. Zoning he's a big slow green target with no real dash/wave dash and no way to get in. If you wanna talk easy try Ghost Rider with jump S. now that = Evo easy.

I don't use even use Wesker and I don't think he needs to be nerfed. The only reason this guy got perfected is because he uses Phoenix Wright and because he failed to block everything. The person that needs to be nerfed is Doom. All of your doom comebacks are demotivational because I have actually lost entire teams to X factor Doom. They need to nerf Doom, not Wesker.

@Hammerhead027 If anything its actually easier to block X Doom then Wesker. You just have to know how to block and run away effectively. If Wesker and Doom were so good, then every tournament player should be using them which isnt the case. Justin Wong won Socal regionals using Iron Fist, Wolverine, and Akuma. Never blame the character, only the player for not knowing the match ups and how to play them.

@TheThinkingHour That assist its like the reason I want to use strider (also his oroborous) cause I use ghost rider to zone out people, and it worked pretty nicely, and often they try to super jump to get in, thats when I think strider's assist would do nicely.

@KingCrimeTime Its not the fact that the guy was lagging its the fact that the mixups Max was doing with Wesker were confusing the guy and he didn't know which way to block. The mixup he gets on Iron Man is that he calls the Strider assist and had Wesker dash under Iron Man, which cause the guy to block the wrong way.

@FalconDragon2000 I did some research after that assist me.came out. The pick up does work on iron man, but not anywhere like most players. It's only works on iron man and Jill in the corner which is clearly seen at 38. It also works anywhere on the screen with at least lvl 2 XF.

He /was/ nerfed. But you can't change the way he plays. Infinity divided by two is still infinity.
Not to say he's the best character, because the best characters are well-played Vergils or Shuma-Goraths. And if you think they are shit, then you haven't fought anyone who actually knows how to use them.
When Hulk and Sentinel stop doing 800k+ damage in a simple bread & butter combo, then Wesker can be nerfed below godly.
But they won't. Because that's how they're meant to be.

The fact of the matter is, both MvC3 and UMvC3 are broken beyond comprehension. Capcom is literally doing everything they can to fix it, but it can't be fixed. Because when you have characters that are loved by all you can't fuck them up or you'll lose your fans.
That means some will be completely useless (like MODOK), some will be at a major disadvantage until mastered (like Zero), some forever loved and made the same way (the vets), and some hated and pointless (like MODOK).

And why are they all like that? Because that's just how those characters are. Zero is amazing but harder to use than most and requires mastery and discipline (same for Strider, really). All the veterans to the MvC series remain the same because they worked. And some (like Wesker, Sentinel, and Hulk) are just naturally overpowered so they have to be overpowered in this game otherwise it's like calling Tofurky a real Turkey.
People will kill you.

People complain about a character being broken but they just need to stop sucking and learn the matchup. I personally dont think Wesker is outrageously broken but he does have somewhat of a advantage over most characters. A good fighting game isnt a balanced one. If they do nerf Wesker to the point where the shittiest of characters can rape him, then the game isnt even worth playing anymore.

@TwilightEX12 If you were paying attention, you'd notice that he did "do something". The first Wesker combo landed on Wright was because Wesker's normal beat Wright's to the punch. The second was because he didn't expect Strider. Third was from Wesker crossing him up when Iron Man came out. Fourth was from Strider assist again. Fifth was from Wesker's teleport cross up+Doom assist. Nemesis did his best to hit Wesker, but his normals beat him out.
