  • That was fun to listen to AND helpful! deb deb deb deb! :)

  • This was really helpfull, thank you very much for uploading

  • that was... HOT

  • @angie4josh You just need to find a subject/style/medium that means something to you, something that gives you that feeling. I believe that all people who are drawn to art are gifted, but a lot try to force themselves to be like everyone else and never find the style/subject/medium that their inner artist craves.

I also believe that no one realises their own talent, even when it's pointed out to them over and over again. LOL

  • Wonderful! I'll give this a go.

  • THANKS

  • I envy you. To some this comes purely naturally, they are the true artists, that cannot be taught. I paint but never like this, I wish to God I could, I would never stop painting if I did. I do believe that art comes from the soul, it cannot be taught, it can not be forced, I see that alot of people get lessons, yet there is always something missing from there work, it is a thing called feeling, you my dear sir have that thing in abundance. Thanks for the video.

  • @angie4josh hey in Thailand they have elephants that paint beautiful paintings of flowers. It is an acquired skill, you just need to want to do it and do it till you master it.

  • You are a total ROCK STAR ! Thank you for the lesson i did learn something.

  • @ruapraia ROCK STAR? -- I prefer Tom Waits --- thanks heaps

  • beautiful painting

Please reference to a brush that you use to make the leaves

  • @alien123alien1 This is a 1 inch house painting brush. On the smaller leaves I use a round hog bristle brush, a big one, about 1/2 inch round at the collar.

  • amazing! also, dab dab dab! ♥

  • This guy has a great voice what the hell.

  • Sounds like he's delivering a poem . ^^

  • You are GREAT! and I love your Voice too,, who cares about the voice, what is important here is your passion for art and your kindness for shared it. I've been trying to do trees and and finally found it! great idea. sometimes we think when we do trees we have to do the leaves one by one, but this is a great way. thanks.

  • This is wonderful! Thank you so much for teaching.

  • funny when he brings his brush out and paints... i'm like "oh I forgot it was a painting"... :p

  • very beautiful

  • wowowww!!!!

  • Colors are vibrant and and you make technique appear so easy! I love your voice!

  • I am using student quality acrylic paint here - you can use this technique with oils and water colors also.

  • @speedpaintingdvds mybrotherpaints in acrylics he is allergic to turpentine

  • what type of paint do you use???

  • love your work...for me to get it as close as this i have to be so focused and talk to myself and redo here

  • dab dab dab dab! XD this was really helpful thank you!

  • excellent and well informative,nice one...: ))

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The dark color is a mix of 1 part raw sienna, 4 parts crimson and 8 parts cobalt blue, or there abouts.

Don't mix them completely and you get a great variation of colors on your painting which will look more natural.

  • whats the name of the color of the dark part of the leafs? like a purple-ish blue or something.

  • Really nice! Thanks for the vid :-)!

  • Great easy technique! A bit limiting in the long run, but I think this is very well done!

  • superb........love it thnku to learn us,,.:)

  • I've been searching all morning for pictures of gum trees on line to work out how to paint the foliage. I've hit a wall with a painting I've been struggling with and your simple approach has given me the way forward. Thank you so much!

  • dab dab dab dab

  • very good...I liked...

  • It was time to add mid-level trees to my garden wall mural (I've never really painted before and this is my first wall) so I watched your video (twice) and went out a copied your technique. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this video and sharing your knowledge and talent. I love my trees!

  • i love the way you say dab ! :D hahahah thank you ! :)

  • *falls over in shock at how amazing the painting is* the leaves are so easy!

  • @55painterman ...what? I know art is subjective, but I don't see why you think it looks like a nightmare. It looks like leaves on a tree like it's supposed too. Not to mention he does it skillfully and quickly 0.o

  • i dont like this MOIST voice

  • @gloryboxmusic I don't like my moist voice either but it's all I got and at 68 I don't think I can do much about it. Cheers Len

  • @speedpaintingdvds I like your voice nothing wrong nor moist from my ears...;) Your painting is awesome and the lesson is much appreciated, thanks for your tips!

  • @speedpaintingdvds i loike it! it sounds very classroom-ish! :)

  • @gloryboxmusic I don't like my moist voice either but it's all I got and at 68 I don't think I can do much about it. Wish I had your audio setup and the knowledge how to use it.

    Cheers Len

  • I love this technique!! thank you so much :)

  • hi aurore48961 - yes there is a need for a branches with leaves tutorial, I will make one soon.

  • My first speed painting video was out in 1980.

Many of the techniques which I developed and my script which I composed appear in Bob's teachings and are still being used by the Bob Ross Teachers today. Something also very strange is the fact that I had an afro haircut when I did my shopping center exhibitions. This was before Bob Ross was known. I guess he learnt off many people.

  • I think Bob Ross and a lot of other speed painters learnt from my original 1980 dvd.

  • @speedpaintingdvds : original 1980 DVD????? Not VHS?

  • @krupetzky - my mistake - they were VHS

  • @speedpaintingdvds I meant videos. In 1980 we had VHS.

  • Very nice technique...same as Bob Ross.Thank you Tony

  • Great advice, thank you for sharing!
