omg im crying so hard right now. I cant stand the thought that this happens everyday to innocent animals who only want a home and someone to love them.

I got my first dog from the pound. It was her last day before being put to sleep, and she's still alive today 10 years later and she's been my best friend all through the years

The major fault is to the damm goverment to put this law against this animals. Instead of spending their money on enthusiasta and constructing more shelters they could spend it on a place for them to live and food to maintain them alive

Everything they said is true. I worked at a county shelter 7 years and this brought back all the heartbreak I dealt with all those years ago. I was the occasional holder during euthanasia and they just begged you save them..they knew! All I could do was kiss their little head and say I'm sorry. Everyone should see this video.

This is so sad. i have bought my puppy. and i would love to adopt all the cats and dogs but i cant. and if people are gonna buy a pet they should be responisble for it! I swear my mom and I decided if we ever win the lottery the first thing we will do is open a no kill shelter for any animal that is thrown to the side. In Sweden you cannot go to a shop and buy a dog or a cat, as its against the law.

You MUST adopt it or buy it from a ''breeder'' or maybe someone you know.

I have never in my whole life, so far, seen a homeless dog on the street here. However I do see cats. Cats wich are left behind at our street when the owner moves. Someone always give the cats food Ive noticed, but its wrong to leave their own animal. Atleast make someone take care of it...

Spay, neuter, MICROCHIP your pets! If you find a lost dog, you can take it to your vet and ask them to check for an ID. They will do this for free!

I don't understand why adoption fees are so high when so many animals are being put to death. Here some shelters ask upwards of $400-500 per pet.

Are you serious? Those fees are just outrageous. I've never hard of adoption fees that high. They're usually $150-200 for adult dogs, and $250 for puppies.

I work at a shelter in SoCal. the reason deads go in a "trash can" is because that's how they are stored in the freezer until the disposal crew comes (once a week for us). then the animals are taken to a mass crematorium. thankfully, the residents of my city approved a large budget for "animal disposal"...if they hadn't the animals would end up dumped in a land fill. it's EXPENSIVE, folks... if public shelters had as much money as private humane societies it wouldn't be like this.

my dad use to go and pick up stray animals in our town, hed refuse to give them to the shelter here. I went there a few days ago,in a cage mother cat 6 babies,1 dead They don't care for the animals, are never there, and they shoot the animals instead of putting them to sleep.That guy and girl really care for those animals and hate ending their lives. but would it kill somebody to bury these poor animals in a cemetary?

This is BS because you know the f*ckin' shelters charge over $100 usually to adopt an animal and they'd rather kill it than reduce the price or give it to a loving home.There wouldnt be so many animals in shelters if they weren't so greedy!Just because someone doesnt have $100 to adopt a pet does not mean it wont be a loving home!It's the shelters fault, not NOT getting your pets fixed!Makes me angry as hell!

Yes I agree with you, you used to be able to have a background check to make sure you can provide a home for the animal, then you payed the 60 dollar adoption fee no matter the size or age of the animal, NOW anything considered a "small" dog is anywhere from 150 to 350 at the shelter!! THey only care about making a buck like everyone else. THey get donations and are given volunteers so they dont have to count on profit.....disgusting.

This is so heartbreaking, there was a dog *exactly* like my lab we just lost due to old age... yet only young! how canpeople not *think* when they get a dog or a cat that it is as big a decision as having a child? you are commiting to 12-20 years of care! my dogs (including the one we just lost) and all 3 of my cats are rescue, all the result of someone not spaying/neutering or in our old labs case they couldn't be bothered any more!

I was just instramental in getting New Mexico to Ban the gassing of animals with Carbon Monoxde The ban goes into effect on June 19th The wayy I got there attention after 2 years of trying was my first YT Video which I took down. All pets need is care, love, food, water and exercise; you get so much back from them. If you cannot look after them simply, do not have them. Like us, animals have feelings and they hurt to.
