Nicely done OllyBolly. I'm a massive Ollie fan and love to watch both his films and chat show interviews. He had an incredible charisma and huge screen presence - without a doubt one of the greatest actors ever. Do you have any archive material from his many chat show appearances that aren't already on you tube?
I f**king love this man. Too many people only remember him as a drunken buffoon, and although he was an alcoholic, he allowed himself to be travestied in that "role" because he would've done anything to entertain people. He never knew he was too good to have to do that. He was heartbreakingly generous in allowing it to happen. Don't judge him by his drunken rep. Watch his films and the genius is unmissable... He made the air move. Rest in Peace, Ollie, my dear.x
Well done sir ollybolly ! main omission for me is he bates the triple echo but all the other good ones are in there cheers "Ollie from BM that was ...
Barry Norman....whose own career as a critic was akin to a large, inexplicable wart placed prominently on someones face. Ugly, but yet you just had to pay attention to it or stare at it.
@JollyRodders Hey there..Do u know the name of the film REED was in when a party of people were invited 2 on old hse. The person who invited them never showed himself but he told them all of bad things they'd done in life..Such as murder,etc...I just can't think of the film...I'm nearly sure it woulda been late 70's early 80's?? maybe...If u could help i'd b very greatful...Thnx!
Oliver was a man who had lived a life to its fullest - a bit too much from time to time. He was making a new rise with Gladiator, only to die before his prime.
what was the name of the film in which he played an army sgt, who dabbles with a tranny or transexual and batters him.. can you post it on for me..ta..
Oliver Reeds finest performance must have been Castaway(1986), Oliver played an old man trying to prove himself to his younger and very beautiful wife. Oliver screen presence was a master class in great acting.
RIP Oliver Reed. We miss you so much. I wish Oliver was alive. Oliver Reed is the best actor in the whole wide world. Oliver you are the best. I love watching his movies. His movies are awesome.
a little known classic sci-fi movie that is just as good as soylent green in my own personal opinion. A sci-fi movie with a very serious message and statement. :)
He was great in "The adventures of Baron Munchausen" with Uma Thurman at her yummiest. And then there was the second "Lonesome Dove" movie, with a young Reese Witherspoon as his wife.
I "love" Icon Actor OLIVER REED yes he was very outspoken, intimidating, charming, bold and a dashing adventurer Actor/Man. Rest in sweet peace, Mr. Reed your legacy Classic filmworks live on. My most favorite of them all is a film called "The Trap" & "The Three Musketeer's" franchise to name a couple few. I love his works: his amazing & totally gorgeous handsome!
Why Oliver wasn't Oscar nominated for his multi-faceted role as Gerald Grich in "Women in Love," I'll never know. In the same year that saw Ryan O' Neal nominated for "Love Story?" A damned shame, a real pity. Marvelous, huge personality; a fine actor.
I knew his nice brother David, that time I did not even knew he was the brother of my most favorite actor Oliver Reed.I will always regret that I never saw Oliver In real, I think Ollie was a very nice social man and the most splendid actor ever.
Yes Simon , about three times.David I knew best and saw him frequently because his also a collector of old filmstar postcards.Sarah I also saw a few times all very nice and down to earth people.Pity I never saw Oliver, that had be very nice.I was surprised Ollie was their brother (found that out here on youtube!)and Sarah has the same eyes as her dad.
'I regret not having made love to every women on earth, I regret having not kissed the wet nose on every dog on earth, I regret having not been into every bar on earth, but it doesn't make me a hell raiser. If somebody punches me on the nose, I will punch them back; if somebody buys me a drink, I will buy them one back'
And what about his cats?He loved them too, still they did not obey his last wishes to be buried under a Cherry Tree next to his cat.
What I see on one of the video's, his grave is not well kept and full with weets.
Yes, he gave drinks back in pubs, my ex-boyfriend Paul knew him and they where good buddies, I think he learnd to drink from Ollie in Sevenoaks when he was young.
Him a Hellraiser never, look behind the shield and you see a sweet man with a big heart.

I would have liked to have seen "The Lion Of The Desert" included. As Marshall Rudolfo Graziana he outshown both Anthony Quinn AND Rod Steiger.

His intense, physical and, well, boozy persona would be perfect in a film noir. Its a shame he never did one.

Great video BUT you missed his best film, the Hunting Party.
His greatest photos were taken from this film and the Prince and the Pauper. He was extremely handsome in those 2 films.
