This is, unfortunately, not actually the Fox News that characteristically pulls boneheaded stories like this - although one could understand the confusion.

Local affiliates are actually administered by parties separate from Roger Ailes. So this, in other words, is just a lazy god damn local reporter, most likely from commuter university and maybe a 1-year stint as a back-up weather lass in Snail Anus, North Dakota.

I think this is very disturbing and potentially very dangerous. Not the subject of this news report, but the report itself. The way it lies or presents only the facts that are convenient to it (and even those facts aren´t entire true). I´m from Czech Republic, a country that twenty year ago was rulled by Communists. Ugh, for fucks sake. If you think these comics were ever even aimed at kids beforehand, or that darker comic books are a new thing, then you don't know what you're talking about. Comic book characters such as Batman or Catwoman are portrayed by thousands of different artists and each one caters to their own demographic. There's some kids Batman and then more explicit comics, aimed at young adults, generally sold in places kids don't even go anyway. They aren't kids comics.

Most comic books stopped being catered to, and written for, kids back in the mid to late 1990's; mainly because kids weren't buying them anymore.

Over 90% of all comic books are sold to consumers over the age of 18, and these companies are writing and illustrating for that audience.

The only thing I really agree with is that the female characters are grotesquely objectified and it's definitely a misrepresentation of reality and sends young girls the wrong message about body image as well as young men with the Mr. Universe-like images. @ShinGoku77 Yes they were because of the draconian Comics Code Authority established by the comic book industry in response to the government threatening to censor them, so they censored themselves to get the government off their backs. Before then, during the Golden Age, there were some pretty violent and sexual comics. Just look at EC Comics's library.

All because of Frederick Wertham, who is generally considered to be the comic book equivalent to Jack Thompson. But Wertham succeeded.
