@Nohjjohnthegreat why should they break? I always thought they were there for air intake to the radiators but they were supposed to be strong to withstand side impacts. they say if senna's car had higher/stronger side-pods then he would have survived.

They break so the impact is absorbed by the car and the driver won't die from extreme g-force. It happens in F1.

@NOXXism true but the wall was concrete. He would be injured or would walk away if it was a tire wall. But unfortunetly it was a concrete barrier.
